Luo Wei smiled shyly, then switched to calling him "Dad."

Father Mo's face lit up with a broad smile, the lines at the corners of his mouth deepening. Beside him, Mother Mo, not wanting to be left out, asked playfully, "What about me?"

Luo Wei quickly responded, "Mom."

The couple burst into laughter, their faces beaming with joy. They praised Luo Wei, saying she was a wonderful girl and that it was a blessing for the Mo family to have her.

Feeling the warmth of their acceptance and kindness, Luo Wei's eyes welled up slightly. She was touched by their genuine affection, which was more than she had ever felt from her adoptive parents.

The somber mood was quickly replaced as Mo Huai lifted Luo Wei into his arms.

"It's time to take a shower," he said calmly, his face expressionless.

Luo Wei began to protest, "I can go by myself, I don't need you..." but stopped short under Mo Huai's piercing gaze. She closed her mouth and allowed him to carry her into the bathroom.

Mo Huai adjusted the water temperature to just the right warmth, retrieved her pajamas from the closet, and placed them neatly on the bathroom shelf, performing these tasks with practiced care before stepping out.

After Luo Wei finished her shower, her wet hair clung to her neck, droplets of water sliding down to her collarbone. The sight made Mo Huai's mouth dry, and he had to swallow hard to maintain his composure.

Mo Huai stood up and gently guided Luo Wei to sit in the chair. He picked up the hair dryer and began to dry her hair carefully, his slender fingers working through the strands. Luo Wei bit her lip, a blush creeping across her cheeks as she felt his touch.

After a few moments, Mo Huai put away the hair dryer and Luo Wei turned to face him. "What's wrong?" he asked, his voice patient and calm. "Do you have something to say?"

Luo Wei hesitated, thinking for a moment before speaking. "Can you accompany me back to the store tomorrow? I want to tell Sister Xinxin about us." She looked at him, her eyes searching for his reaction.

Luo Wei looked at Mo Huai expectantly, a mixture of anticipation and uncertainty in her eyes. "Of course," Mo Huai replied without hesitation, his agreement coming easily.

"That's great, thank you," Luo Wei said, her face lighting up with a smile that was both relieved and joyful, like a child's.

Mo Huai gazed at her fondly, a faint smile on his lips, appreciating the happiness she radiated.

The next day, Luo Wei and Mo Huai arrived at the Goubuli Cat Pet Shop. Inside, Xiaoqiu and Xiaoli were busy cleaning. When Xiaoqiu glanced up and saw Mo Huai, she immediately put down the mop and approached them.

"Boss Mo," Xiaoqiu greeted, her tone respectful and slightly awed.

Mo Huai nodded in acknowledgment, his sharp and handsome features giving him an almost otherworldly presence.

Seeing Luo Wei suddenly come back, Su Yuxin smiled and pulled Luo Wei aside to greet her, "Why did you come here without telling me?"
Su Yuxin was talking nonstop when she suddenly discovered that there was a strange man standing next to her.
Su Yuxin glanced at the man with a scrutinizing look, her eyes full of doubt.
Luo Wei cleared her throat and then said, "Sister Xinxin, he is my husband."
Su Yuxin screamed in fear and opened her mouth wide, as if she was possessed by an evil spirit and had no reaction at all.
"Sister Xinxin." Luo Wei called out in a louder voice.
"I knew it, I had a feeling," Su Yuxin exclaimed, glancing over at Xiaoqiu and Xiaoli, who were busy sweeping the floor. "This was your doing, wasn't it?" she asked, dragging out her words as she stared at Mo Huai.

"Yes, I arranged for her to come from the old house so that Weiwei could prepare for the birth of our baby," Mo Huai replied calmly.

"What?" Su Yuxin's voice rose in surprise, her eyes wide with shock. "You're pregnant?"

Luo Wei nodded in confirmation. Su Yuxin put a hand to her forehead, her eyebrows twitching as she processed the news.

"It seems I've been too naive about this. Tell me everything," Su Yuxin demanded, her expression suddenly serious.

Luo Wei, feeling the weight of the moment, began to recount the truth about her relationship with Mo Huai, explaining everything that had happened between them.

Su Yuxin took a moment to process everything she'd just heard, clearly shocked by the revelations about Luo Wei's past. She never imagined that the Luo family could be so heartless.

"Weiwei, you made the right decision to leave that place," Su Yuxin said softly, taking Luo Wei's hand in hers and offering comfort.

Mo Huai, sensing Su Yuxin's concerns, spoke up with a resolute tone, "I promise to take good care of Weiwei. You don't need to worry."

Su Yuxin studied Mo Huai carefully. He was a prominent figure in Yanjing City, coming from a wealthy and influential family. She couldn't help but wonder if he was truly worthy of Weiwei's trust and love, given the many complicated scenarios often depicted in dramas involving powerful families.

Luo Wei noticed Su Yuxin's lingering doubts and reassured her, "Don't worry, Mo Huai treats me very well. I'll take good care of myself."

Su Yuxin's concerns seemed to ease at Luo Wei's words. "Your happiness now is more important than anything else," she said earnestly, feeling a sense of relief.

Mo Huai added with a sincere gaze towards Luo Wei, "I won't let Weiwei suffer any injustice."

Su Yuxin's eyes welled up with tears of happiness. Seeing Weiwei finally escape the clutches of the Luo family and find genuine love and support moved her deeply.

Meanwhile, at another location, Chi Ye returned home after work, only to be greeted by the sound of harsh scolding. He frowned, wondering what had caused such a commotion.

Inside, Chi Yu was furiously berating a servant, his eyes blazing with anger. "How do you do your job? If you can't do it right, then get out!"

"I'm sorry, Master," the servant sobbed, her voice trembling with apology.

"What's the use of saying sorry?" Chi Yu continued to scold, his tone cold and unyielding.

Chi Ye entered the room, casting a weary glance at Chi Yu as though he had just encountered a particularly difficult situation.

"What's wrong, Aunt Wang?" Chi Ye asked gently.

Aunt Wang, still sobbing, murmured, "I accidentally broke the eldest young master's quilt. I didn't mean to. Second Young Master, please don’t fire me."

She clutched at Chi Ye's sleeve, pleading with him not to dismiss her.

Chi Ye sighed and said firmly, "The Chi family will not fire you, I promise. You can go and get back to your work."

Hearing this, Aunt Wang stopped crying, thanked him, and went back to her room.

"Minding your own business," Chi Yu sneered, his face dark with anger.

Chi Ye was not one to back down easily. He retorted, "Are you sick?"

"Ever since you broke off your engagement with Sister Weiwei, you've been constantly angry. When she liked you, you ignored her. Now that she doesn’t want you anymore, you’re causing trouble. You deserve it."

Chi Yu's thoughts were laid bare, and his fury intensified, his eyes growing colder.

Chi Ye continued to taunt, "Your future wife doesn’t want you anymore. How pitiful! Who are you trying to impress by losing your temper now?"

Chi Ye clicked his tongue a few times, his expression one of gloating over someone else's misfortune.

Chi Yu’s face grew increasingly gloomy as he suddenly raised his fist, but it froze mid-air before landing.

“What are you doing?” Father Chi shouted coldly.

“Look at you two brothers. Neither of you is without fault. One pines away for love, while the other disregards family arrangements just for fun.”

Father Chi cursed angrily, causing Chi Yu and Chi Ye to lower their heads in silence.

“Go reflect on yourselves and write a self-criticism for me.”

“Dad, don’t be so old-fashioned. Who writes self-criticisms these days?” Chi Ye complained, clearly dissatisfied.

“Really? Then write two,” Father Chi demanded loudly, leaving Chi Ye no choice but to remain silent.

After a while, Father Chi stormed out in anger. The two brothers exchanged looks of disdain before heading to their respective rooms.
