Luo Wei no longer wished to stay in the oppressive home that didn't belong to her and planned to leave.
"Don't leave! Because you broke your promise, I got blacklisted by the director. You must apologize. If you don't, you can't leave," Luo Qianqian quickly blocked Luo Wei's path with her arms.
"I won't apologize. You're dreaming," Luo Wei responded firmly, forcefully pushing Luo Qianqian away. Luo Qianqian, being frail, almost fell, and Zhu Shulan hurriedly supported her. This unfilial daughter even dared to hit her sister, Zhu Shulan cursed in her heart, vowing not to forgive her if her precious daughter got hurt.
"If you don't apologize, don't think about leaving here," Zhu Shulan yelled, her blood pressure suddenly spiking. Luo Qianqian quickly helped Zhu Shulan, who was holding her forehead, to the sofa. Zhu Shulan, frowning, sat down to rest.
"If you don't apologize, I'll tell Yù-ge that you did something dirty with another man," Luo Qianqian's lips curled into a sinister smile as she stared at Luo Wei's concealed neck. On such a sunny day, being wrapped up so tightly must mean there's something unsightly hidden.
"Go ahead, tell him. I don't care," Luo Wei replied sharply. She had loved him for over ten years, but she had never warmed his heart. What else could she do now but give up?
Luo Qianqian hadn't expected Luo Wei to refuse so bluntly and was momentarily at a loss for words. "Do you really dare to say that you don't have any feelings for Yù-ge anymore?"
Meanwhile, Chi Yù and Chi Ye arrived outside the Luo family's mansion. Chi Ye had just returned from studying abroad, only to get into trouble for fighting and was ordered by his father to reflect at home. His car had also been confiscated. Today, with his father away at a meeting, Chi Ye finally got a chance to step outside and enjoy the sun. It was a lucky coincidence that Chi Yù didn't have to work on Sundays, and after Chi Ye's relentless pestering, Chi Yù agreed to bring him along to visit Weiwei-jie.

If it weren't for the engagement between Weiwei-jie and Chi Yù, he would have pursued her himself.
Chi Yù remained silent, listening to Chi Ye's endless chatter all the way.
Chi Ye followed closely behind Chi Yù like a loyal dog.
At that moment, the three people inside the house didn't hear the footsteps outside the door.
Luo Wei was at a loss for words. Had she really moved on from Chi Yù? It would be a lie to say she wasn't sad. When Chi Yù's mother proposed the engagement between their two families, Zhu Shulan was quite excited—finally, someone was interested in this unfilial daughter, and it would be good to marry her off early. To please Zhu Shulan, Luo Wei had readily agreed to the engagement, though her feelings for Chi Yù were still vague.
"Answer me, do you still love Yù-ge or not?" Luo Qianqian noticed Luo Wei's hesitation, her eyes filled with resentment. She would never allow Yù-ge to be taken away by this lowly woman. In the past, the Chi family and the Luo family were evenly matched, but since Chi Yù took over the Chi Corporation, their assets and stocks had multiplied several times over, leaving the Luo family far behind. Luo Qianqian gritted her teeth in hatred—why wasn't it her who got engaged to Chi Yù back then?
"I don't love him anymore. Are you satisfied now?" Luo Wei's voice trembled slightly, her fists clenched tightly.
"Weiwei-jie, do you really not love my brother anymore?" A clear male voice suddenly rang out. Luo Wei instinctively looked toward the source of the voice.
She saw Chi Yù and Chi Ye standing outside the door. When did they arrive? How much had Chi Yù heard?
Chi Ye quickly walked over to Luo Wei and examined the handprint on her fair face, his heart aching. Anyone with eyes could see that she had just been slapped. "Weiwei-jie, what happened to your face?" Chi Ye asked angrily, glaring at the two women in front of him.
"I'm fine." Seeing Chi Ye made Luo Wei feel a bit better, and she forced a smile at him, though it was more of a grimace.
Chi Yù stood silently nearby, his expression stiff as her words echoed in his ears. Did she really not love him anymore? Back in high school and college, she had clung to him like a loyal dog, never giving up no matter how harshly he treated her.
Luo Qianqian broke the silence, approaching Chi Yù and whining, "Yù-ge, my sister must have said that in anger. Don't take it seriously. She loves you and will clear things up with that man."
"That man?" A mocking smile suddenly appeared at the corner of Chi Yù's mouth. No wonder she didn't like him anymore. It turned out she had already found a new benefactor and was now in a hurry to sever ties.
Chi Yù's narrowed eyes flashed with clear anger as he walked up to Luo Wei.
"I don't have any man," Luo Wei muttered, her eyes downcast. Being stared at by Chi Yù made her nervous, and she felt her hairs stand on end.
A flash of malice passed through Chi Yù's eyes, clearly indicating he didn't believe Luo Wei's words.
He suddenly grabbed her wrist, holding it tightly enough to cause pain. "Let go, you're hurting me," Luo Wei protested, struggling to break free, but her efforts were in vain. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't shake off his strong grip.
There was a stark difference in strength between a man and a woman.
As they pulled back and forth, the kiss marks hidden on her neck were exposed to the air. Chi Yù's deep eyes suddenly flared with anger.
Luo Wei, realizing her embarrassment, felt a wave of despair wash over her as she shakily pulled her clothes to cover herself. "What's on your neck? How dare you betray me?" Chi Yù's brows furrowed in disgust as if he had touched something filthy, and he quickly let go of her wrist.
Luo Wei staggered, nearly falling. She steadied herself, rubbing her sore wrist. The red marks on her fair skin were particularly glaring.
"You are hopeless. I initially thought you were just immature and could be taught to improve. But I, Chi Yù, will not marry a woman who doesn't respect herself."
Luo Qianqian, seeing an opportunity, added fuel to the fire, "Yù-ge, even though my sister has another man, it's a shame to end a relationship of over twenty years just like that."
"A relationship of over twenty years?" Chi Yù sneered. "I never liked her. Where did you get the idea of a relationship of over twenty years? I want to break off the engagement."
"Brother, don't be rash. There must be some misunderstanding. Weiwei-jie isn't that kind of person." Chi Ye, having just seen Weiwei-jie, didn't know what to do in such a situation. He had no experience with matters of the heart.
"Misunderstanding? I've seen it with my own eyes. What is there to misunderstand?" Chi Yù's face grew even colder as he glanced contemptuously at Luo Wei. He didn't really want to end the engagement. As long as she admitted her mistake and showed genuine remorse, he would forgive her if it was just a misunderstanding.
Zhu Shulan, seeing the situation, softened her expression slightly. "There's no need to make a big deal out of this. Breaking off the engagement should at least be discussed with your mother."
"I can make this decision on my own. There's no need to trouble my mother."
"This..." Zhu Shulan was at a loss for words. She didn't know what to say. It was all this jinx's fault for not being virtuous. She couldn't blame Chi Yù for wanting to end the engagement.
"Fine, I agree to break off the engagement," Luo Wei said.
