Luo Qianqian lunged forward, attempting to snatch the phone.
Gu Chuyi instinctively took a step back, then clutched the phone tightly to her chest, shouting, “What are you doing, you lunatic? Let go of me, ahh…!”
Luo Qianqian desperately clawed at her, pressing her whole body against Gu Chuyi, determined to grab the phone. She snapped, “You’re the lunatic! You’ve got some nerve, daring to secretly film me!”
Gu Chuyi wondered why she was so unlucky today. Why did she have to run into her? And now she was stuck in this mess—just thinking about it made her feel jinxed.
Why was she so unlucky!
After a few minutes of struggling, Gu Chuyi started to pant heavily and shouted, “You’re crazy! I’m not deleting it, so what can you do about it?”
Luo Qianqian’s eyes flared with anger upon hearing this, her face twisted with rage.
Due to the exhausting day at work and the fact that she was wearing high heels, Gu Chuyi was clearly at a disadvantage in this intense struggle.
Luo Qianqian managed to twist Gu Chuyi’s arm behind her back, a triumphant smile spreading across her face as she raised her hand threateningly.
Resigned, Gu Chuyi stopped resisting, tightly closing her eyes and pressing her lips together.
She was bracing herself for the impending storm.
Wait, wait, wait… why doesn’t my face hurt yet? Why don’t I feel anything?
Gu Chuyi wondered, peeking through a crack in her eyelids. She saw that Luo Qianqian’s raised hand was firmly gripped by none other than Fu Chen.
Luo Qianqian couldn’t move, her face contorting slightly in pain, her expression growing more unpleasant by the second.
Gu Chuyi froze, her eyes snapping open as she asked in confusion, “Why are you here?”
Luo Qianqian was equally surprised, her face flushing with embarrassment as her left hand clenched into a fist at her side.
She stammered, “Brother Fu, you…”
Luo Qianqian’s pupils dilated with shock. She hadn’t expected to see her favorite celebrity here. Since their last meeting, she hadn’t seen him again.
Fu Chen exuded a cold, detached aura. He turned slightly to glance at Gu Chuyi, then looked back at Luo Qianqian. “It’s not ladylike for girls to use violence.”
His voice was calm and even, but it sent chills down her spine.
With that, Fu Chen suddenly released her hand, causing Luo Qianqian to stumble before steadying herself.
Gu Chuyi thought to herself, Didn’t he say he’d be filming on set for three months? Why is he back after only one month? And why is he here at the Imperial Hotel?
These questions swirled in her mind, but before she could figure them out, Fu Chen took her hand and led her out of the hotel.
As they left, Gu Chuyi could faintly hear Luo Qianqian’s angry shouts and curses behind them.
Fu Chen led her to the parking lot, pushed her into the car, fastened her seatbelt, and did it all in one swift motion.
Soon, the car was slowly moving down the road, the vehicles outside speeding past.
Fu Chen gripped the steering wheel with one hand, his handsome face calm and unruffled.
Gu Chuyi collected her thoughts, glanced at him, and mumbled, “Weren’t you supposed to be on set for three months? Why are you at the hotel?”
Fu Chen smiled, his expression unchanged. “I took leave.”
“Oh,” Gu Chuyi replied, then added, “When are you going back to filming?”
“Are you in such a hurry for me to leave?” Fu Chen asked coldly.
Gu Chuyi realized he seemed to be in a bad mood, but… he did look really cool when he was playing the hero earlier.
She didn’t even realize her heart was pounding wildly—something she’d never felt before.
“N-no,” Gu Chuyi responded awkwardly, forcing a reluctant smile.
In the cramped car, a pleasant ringtone suddenly echoed.
[“I want you to see the place of dreams…”]
It was Ayumi Hamasaki’s MY ALL.
Gu Chuyi’s eyes widened with curiosity as she looked at him.
Fu Chen nonchalantly clipped a Bluetooth headset to his ear and said to the person on the other end, “I’m going back tomorrow.”
“Mm-hmm.”
“Okay.”
After a few casual responses, Fu Chen hung up.
He removed the Bluetooth headset and focused on driving.
A warm feeling surged in Gu Chuyi’s heart, her mind racing with thoughts. She curiously asked, “That song?”
Fu Chen’s grip on the steering wheel tightened slightly, but he quickly resumed his usual expression and said flatly, “It’s a good song, so I used it as my ringtone.”
“Really?” Gu Chuyi teased, “Weren’t you into K-pop music before?”
Fu Chen didn’t want to continue this conversation, so he brushed it off. “That was then, this is now.”
“Oh,” Gu Chuyi replied, her face showing an inexplicable smile. “Hehe, I almost thought you set it as your ringtone just for me.”
Fu Chen was about to say something but was suddenly interrupted by her.
“Knowing it’s not for me, I’m relieved,” Gu Chuyi said with a playful smile, bouncing slightly in her seat.
Fu Chen was left speechless, his eyes reflecting an unreadable emotion.
Supreme Mansion.
Chiye was slumped on the sofa, happily watching anime.
Luo Wei smiled and said, “Don’t you have work today? How come you suddenly have time to visit me?”
Chiye grabbed a bright red apple from the fruit platter and took a bite. “I missed you, hehe.”
Taking another bite, Chiye continued, “Weiwei, did you know Zhu Shulan is staying at my house now? It’s driving me crazy!”
Luo Wei fell silent for a few seconds before saying, “Staying at your house? Why… why is that?”
She frowned slightly, a look of worry crossing her face.
“Weiwei, I know everything. This is all karma for Zhu Shulan. After all the pain she caused you, I’m sure you haven’t forgotten. Now she’s just realizing that you’re the real daughter. I’m telling you, don’t ever look back. Zhu Shulan and Uncle Luo are getting a divorce, so she’s temporarily staying at my house. Isn’t that great, hahaha.”
Chiye’s eyes sparkled with determination as he earnestly tried to persuade her.
After a while, Luo Wei softly said, “She has nothing to do with me anymore.”
She lowered her eyes, her voice faint and tired.
“That’s right, Weiwei. Look how well your husband treats you now.” Chi ye’s gaze shifted toward the tall figure of a man in the kitchen.
At that moment, what they didn’t know was that Mo Huai, in the kitchen, was silently fuming with jealousy. Every time this kid visited, he completely monopolized the girl’s attention.
The girl ate with him, watched anime with him, chatted with him, played around with him…
And Mo Huai was left like an outsider, helpless despite being the powerful and decisive Master Mo of Yanjing.
But what could he do? After all, this boy was the girl’s most cherished little brother!
