"Chi Ye?" Su Yuxin asked tentatively in a low voice.

Chi Ye turned around, hearing his name, and saw a woman smiling at him. His eyes were cold and sharp as he asked, confused, "Do we know each other?"

Su Yuxin, with an apron around her neck adorned with "puppies," looked quite cute. Chi Ye found her familiar, but he couldn't place where he had seen her before.

Su Yuxin introduced herself with a friendly smile, "I'm Weiwei's friend, Su Yuxin. You met me once when you were 17."
Several fragments of memory flashed through Chi Ye's mind, and he suddenly realized that he had met Su Yuxin once when he was a child, though he didn't have a strong impression of her. When Chi Ye was 17, he had just come back from school and went to visit his sister Weiwei, who was with Su Yuxin at the time. They had a brief conversation but didn't talk in detail. Afterward, Chi Ye went abroad to study, and they rarely met. He now recalled that when Weiwei mentioned wanting to open a pet shop with a friend, it turned out to be Su Yuxin.

"So, you're Weiwei's friend," Chi Ye said, smiling and revealing his neat, white teeth. "Now I remember."

"Are you okay with your injury? My shop is just ahead. Come over, and I'll bandage you up," Su Yuxin offered kindly. The blood on Chi Ye's forehead looked concerning, and since the hospital was quite far, she feared he might lose too much blood before reaching it.

Having learned basic bandaging a few years ago, she felt confident she could help. Chi Ye thought for a moment before agreeing readily, "Okay."

Su Yuxin and Chi Ye walked side by side under the sunshine, creating a particularly picturesque scene.

In just a few minutes, they arrived at the store's entrance. Su Yuxin smiled faintly and said, "Come in." It was a quiet time in the shop, with no customers around. Xiaoqiu and Xiaoli had gone out to walk the dog, leaving only the two of them in the room.

Chi Ye stepped inside and looked around curiously. The store, though not large, was warmly decorated and clean, giving it a cozy atmosphere. Su Yuxin emerged from a back room with a medicine box in hand and then took a seat on the double sofa.

Su Yuxin patted the sofa next to her, motioning for Chi Ye to sit down. He sat down slowly, and Su Yuxin quickly opened the medicine box, taking out iodine disinfectant to treat his forehead wound.

"Ah—" Chi Ye exclaimed, frowning in discomfort.

"I'm sorry, please bear with it for a while," Su Yuxin apologized, comforting him in a gentle tone, almost as if coaxing a child.

"Yeah," Chi Ye nodded obediently, enduring the pain.

As Su Yuxin continued applying the medicine, her hands moved more gently, and her expression became more focused. Her warm breath accidentally brushed against Chi Ye's neck, causing a tingling sensation.
Chi Ye, at twenty years old, was beginning to experience feelings of love but had never been in a relationship. Although many girls pursued him in school, he had never been interested in any of them. As the saying goes, one cannot date without genuine feelings or engage in activities meant for couples.

As Su Yuxin worked on his injury, Chi Ye's handsome face suddenly grew warm, as if on fire. He quickly turned his head away, unable to meet her gaze.

Noticing Chi Ye's reaction, Su Yuxin wondered why he seemed so shy. After all, he was still a grown man.

She smiled and continued her work, applying the iodine and then carefully bandaging the wound with sterile gauze. After a while, she looked up with a sense of accomplishment and said, "Okay."

"Thank you," Chi Ye said quietly, his face still slightly flushed.

"You're welcome," Su Yuxin replied with a warm smile. Being five years older than Chi Ye and knowing he was a good friend of Weiwei, she felt a sense of familiarity.

After a brief silence, Chi Ye looked somewhat embarrassed, and Su Yuxin was about to speak when Xiaoqiu and Xiaoli, who had been walking the dog outside, came in.

"Yuxin, we're back," Xiaoqiu greeted cheerfully.

Xiaoli glanced at Chi Ye and asked curiously, "Who is this?"

Su Yuxin chuckled and introduced him, "This is Chi Ye, a friend of Weiwei's."

"Hello," Chi Ye said, offering his signature smile.

Feeling a bit awkward, Chi Ye decided it was time to leave.

Su Yuxin accompanied him to the door and waved, "Goodbye."

 ——
Luo Wei was now in her third month of pregnancy. Recently, her morning sickness had worsened, accompanied by vomiting and a loss of appetite.

After taking a shower, Luo Wei lay in Mo Huai's arms, but suddenly felt her stomach churning. Worrying, she quickly got up and rushed toward the bathroom. However, before she could reach the toilet, she vomited on the floor.

The smell of the vomit was unpleasant, reminiscent of rotten food. Luo Wei collapsed weakly beside the toilet and continued to vomit.

She felt extremely uncomfortable, a thin layer of sweat breaking out on her forehead and her face turning pale.

Seeing this, Mo Huai quickly stood up and moved forward to check on her, his face etched with concern. "Are you okay?" he asked, anxiety evident in his voice. He gently patted her back, his eyes filled with worry.

"I'm fine," Luo Wei replied weakly.

Mo Huai pulled out a tissue and wiped her lips, his expression grim. He glanced at the floor, frowning as he took in the mess.

Feeling extremely embarrassed, Luo Wei awkwardly said, "I'm sorry..."

Mo Huai sighed and looked at her silently, not knowing what to say.

Luo Wei fidgeted with her fingers, the bathroom still filled with an unpleasant odor. She felt she was causing him too much trouble. Her eyes reddened slightly, and she began to sob. "I'm sorry... Maybe I should just move out," she murmured, her voice growing softer and more uncertain, like a child who had done something wrong.

Mo Huai gently held Luo Wei's shoulders and turned her to face him. Their eyes met, and his heart ached with concern. He took a deep breath and asked softly, "Where are you planning to go?"

Luo Wei looked surprised and stammered, "I don't know..."

Mo Huai's expression grew resolute. "This is your home. If you don't live here, where will you go?" His tone was firm and sincere.

Luo Wei hesitated, then sobbed, "Don't you dislike me? I even dislike myself."

Her pitiful tone evoked sympathy. Mo Huai's eyes softened with affection as he responded, "I don't find you disgusting. It's just that seeing you so miserable without being able to help made me feel helpless..."

His face was serious, and a hint of weariness was evident between his brows.

Luo Wei realized she had misunderstood. She stopped crying and looked at Mo Huai in stunned silence.

Mo Huai gently caressed the top of her head and said softly, "You should go out first. I'll take care of cleaning the bathroom."

"Let me do it..." Luo Wei protested stubbornly. She wanted to show that she could manage small tasks like cleaning, even if he didn't seem to think she could.

Mo Huai didn't give her a chance to argue. He guided her to the bed and helped her lie down.

Then he turned and went to the bathroom to clean up. Through the glass, Luo Wei watched as the tall, upright man bent over to tidy up after her. Her eyes sparkled with appreciation, and her heart felt warm and full.
