Mo Huai rushed to the Leisure Time Store in a panic. His forehead was dotted with beads of sweat as he regulated his breathing and glanced around.
He quickly spotted the girl’s back and walked over to her with measured steps. Luo Wei was sitting alone by the window, staring into the distance with red, swollen eyes and tightly closed lips. Her tear-streaked face and sorrowful appearance evoked sympathy.
Zhu Shulan, seeing her obstinacy, became infuriated and, after hurling a few angry words, stormed out with her LV bag.
Luo Wei felt someone standing in front of her. Turning her head, she saw Mo Huai standing before her with a serious expression. Flustered, she wiped the tear stains from her eyes with her sleeve and forced a smile, which was more painful than her tears, “Why are you here?”
Mo Huai managed a smile and, with a deep, husky voice, said, “Fool.”
Luo Wei’s brow was furrowed as she stared at him blankly. Mo Huai sat down next to her, took out a handkerchief from his pocket, and gently wiped away her tears with his long, elegant hands, his eyes filled with tenderness. “Don’t cry anymore.”
His gaze was stern and unwavering. Luo Wei sniffled, feeling a pang of guilt. She pouted and said, “Aren’t you angry with me?”
Mo Huai smiled and continued his task without pause. “Angry with you? You can do whatever you want. I’ll always support you. If you choose not to tell me, there must be a reason. I’m here to stand by you.”
Luo Wei hesitated and said vaguely, “I didn’t meet Sister Xinxin today. I came out to see my mother.”
“Hmm,” Mo Huai responded quietly, listening to her. He had never been in a relationship and wasn’t good with flowery words. He knew that just being by her side was enough for him. Luo Wei longed for maternal love, something he couldn’t provide. His expression darkened as he felt complex emotions.
Mo Huai thoughtfully ordered a mint lemon tea for her. Luo Wei grabbed the straw and took two vigorous sips. Mo Huai’s strikingly handsome face, refined and elegant, caught the attention of other girls in the store, who whispered among themselves.
“Wow, this guy is so handsome, even more so than celebrities.” “Who is that woman sitting next to him? They don’t seem to match.” “Is she his girlfriend?” “Impossible.”
Mo Huai turned his head, his deep, penetrating gaze silencing the two girls immediately.
Luo Wei drank the mint lemon tea in one go and let out a contented sigh. Mo Huai stood up and took her hand, leading her out of the Leisure Time Store.
Luo Wei followed closely behind him, his tall and upright figure casting a shadow over her. As they passed the two girls, their gazes were harsh and disdainful. Luo Wei glanced back suddenly but was pulled into the car by Mo Huai, who gently fastened her seatbelt.

On the other side, Gu Xiu, driving back to the hospital, noticed Mo Huai and Luo Wei getting into a car together and started his engine as well. When he saw Luo Wei arguing with the woman, he was tempted to get out and help her.
However, he quickly realized that such heroic acts were for the lead characters. He decided to be the supporting role. Gu Xiu immediately took out his phone and, as expected, Mo Huai arrived even faster than he had anticipated. Gu Xiu smirked, feeling a sense of satisfaction. It seemed his friend had found the girl he was meant to be with.

At the Supreme Mansion, Mo Huai led Luo Wei into the elevator. With an emotionless face, he ignored her furtive glances. Once the elevator stopped, he kept holding her hand tightly.
Luo Wei’s tears had dried up, and she stood dazedly in the living room. Mo Huai suddenly bent down and picked her up in a princess carry.
Luo Wei, startled, exclaimed, “I can walk myself,” she said softly.
Mo Huai acted as though he hadn’t heard and continued toward their room. He gently placed her on the edge of the bed, his usually cold expression softening into one of tenderness.
Luo Wei’s face flushed as she looked at him. She hesitated and asked, “What’s wrong?”
Mo Huai spoke slowly and clearly, “I like you, Luo Wei.”
Luo Wei was stunned into silence! She knew he was exceptionally kind to her, but she had never dared to imagine he felt this way, assuming his kindness was due to the baby. She had planned to leave after the child was born.
Is he confessing his feelings? Did she hear correctly? Luo Wei stuttered, “You… what did you say?”
Mo Huai smiled slightly, his voice firm, “Luo Wei, I like you.”
“Oh.” Luo Wei was dumbstruck, responding with a single, incoherent word.
Still in shock, she muttered, “Is it because of the baby?”
“No! It’s because of you.”
His voice was deep and alluring, stirring a romantic flutter in Luo Wei’s heart. The moment she heard his reply, her heart skipped a beat. Just as she was about to speak, her lips were gently sealed by his kiss.
The sudden kiss, warm and moist, overwhelmed her. The sweetness and smoothness of the kiss rendered her mind blank. She closed her eyes instinctively, feeling as if everything was meant to be. She forgot to think and simply wanted to hold him tighter, even more tightly.

At the Luo family home.
“Mom, don’t be upset. My sister is just being foolish. If it doesn’t work, I’ll confess to Dad. Two million is a small matter for our family,” Luo Qianqian said insincerely.
Zhu Shulan’s eyes widened with anger, her voice harsh and cold. “I’m furious! She’s pregnant and doesn’t even know who the father is. She’s disgracing the Luo family. How will I face our relatives if they find out?”
Luo Qianqian paused, pretending to be surprised, and raised her voice. “Is my sister really pregnant? Who’s the father of the child?”
Zhu Shulan was choked with frustration. “Who knows?”
Luo Qianqian felt a sense of relief. Luo Wei hadn’t revealed that the father was Mo Huai, the president of the Mo Group. With this in mind, Luo Qianqian gritted her teeth. Why did Luo Wei have Chi Yu’s affection, and why was Mo Huai so attentive to her?
Zhu Shulan noticed Luo Qianqian’s distraction and raised her voice. “What are you thinking about?”
Luo Qianqian snapped out of her thoughts and smiled. “Nothing.”
At that moment, Luo Jianguo returned from work and walked into the living room. Luo Qianqian greeted him with a radiant smile. “Dad, you’re back from work!”
“Hmm.” Luo Jianguo responded calmly.
“Dad, I need to talk to you about something,” Luo Qianqian hesitated.
Zhu Shulan nudged her, signaling her to keep quiet.
Luo Jianguo noticed something was off and demanded, “Speak up. Stop dragging it out.”
Zhu Shulan interjected with a troubled tone. “Honey, I’m sorry…”
Luo Jianguo looked at her with a stern expression. “Just tell me directly.”
“Dear, I owe two million. Could you…”
“Smack—”
Luo Jianguo slammed his hand on the table, causing the water in the teacup to ripple.
Zhu Shulan’s anger flared as she pointed at Luo Jianguo and shouted, “Why is it a problem if I need two million? Would you have achieved what you have without the Zhu family’s support?”
Luo Jianguo’s face grew darker, his expression menacingly grim.
