The look of shock on Xiao Xiao's face was perfectly captured by the camera, while Luo Qianqian's hand trembled as she held her phone.
"You..." Xiao Xiao looked up, her face turning as red as a boiled shrimp, irresistibly adorable.
Fu Chen reached out, took the phone from Luo Qianqian's hand, and smiled faintly. "Here, your phone. I'm glad to have a fan like you. I hope you'll continue to like me."
With a piercing gaze, Fu Chen gently patted the girl's head.
"Mm-hmm." The girl nodded, her face beaming with a smile.
Fu Chen glanced briefly at Luo Qianqian before striding out of the venue.
Luo Qianqian watched Fu Chen's retreating figure, her teeth gnashing in anger. Suddenly, she slammed her bag on the ground with force.
"Why would Brother Fu pay attention to that ugly thing? I'm a hundred times prettier than her!" Luo Qianqian fumed, her body trembling with rage.
Her friend snapped out of her thoughts and tried to comfort her. "Qianqian, don't be mad. I didn't expect Brother Fu would kiss her either..."
"It's disgusting!" Luo Qianqian grumbled, scratching her head in frustration and stomping her feet.
Meanwhile, on the other side of town.
Gu Chuyi lazily lounged in the car, casually playing on her phone.
Fu Chen bent down and slid into the driver's seat. Gu Chuyi glanced at him, excitement gleaming in her eyes. "So, how did it go? Her expression must've been priceless, right? Haha, just thinking about how mad she must be makes me happy."
Gu Chuyi laughed so hard she nearly doubled over, a lollipop in her mouth.
Fu Chen shot her a glance, buckled his seatbelt, and started the engine.
"Hey, say something! Did she look like she just ate something nasty?" Gu Chuyi pouted, raising her voice.
"Just as you imagined," Fu Chen replied, a small smile playing on his lips as he shook his head in mild exasperation.
Before going on stage, Fu Chen had unexpectedly received a call from Gu Chuyi. He hadn't anticipated that Luo Wei's non-blood-related sister would turn out to be one of his fans, and Gu Chuyi had relayed everything that had happened at the venue to him.
Gu Chuyi had urged him to mess with Luo Qianqian. Fu Chen initially refused, but eventually, he caved to her persistent pleading.
"Don't make me do such pointless things again," Fu Chen muttered in a low voice, his tone tinged with coldness. "Especially not kissing other girls..."
Gu Chuyi, engrossed in her lollipop, only caught the first part of his sentence and missed the rest. She loudly declared, "I don't think it's boring at all! I actually find it really fun, hehe."
She playfully stuck out her tongue at Fu Chen, making a silly face.
A glimmer of something flickered across Fu Chen's strikingly handsome features as he pressed his lips together.
Bored, Gu Chuyi turned on the music, and it happened to be her favorite song, Ayumi Hamasaki's "MY ALL."
"I have to admit, your taste is getting better. This is my favorite song," Gu Chuyi remarked, unable to hide her delight.
Fu Chen, focused on driving, turned his head slightly to glance at her. After a brief silence, he responded, "Is that so?"
Gu Chuyi nodded enthusiastically, her tone full of certainty. "Yep! Don't you think it sounds amazing?"
Fu Chen seemed lost in thought for a moment. "Oh."
Gu Chuyi continued sucking on her lollipop, curiosity piqued. "Why do you have so many different flavors of Alpenliebe candies in your car?"
Fu Chen's gaze was intense, a slight smile tugging at his lips. "I like them."
Gu Chuyi scoffed and said dismissively, "You don't like them—I do! Hehe."
She pouted, continuing to lick her mango-flavored lollipop.
Suddenly, her tone shifted to one of playful curiosity. "Do you... like someone?"
Fu Chen kept his eyes on the road, his expression impassive, one hand on the steering wheel.
Undeterred, Gu Chuyi pressed on, her smile mischievous. "I know celebrities have to keep their relationships secret, but hiding it even from me? That's not very loyal of you."
Fu Chen's eyes darkened, and his lips formed a tight line. After a long pause, he finally spoke. "The company doesn't allow relationships at the moment."
Gu Chuyi casually pulled out another lollipop, unwrapped it, and popped it into her mouth, teasing him. "If you like someone, just go for it. Who cares about the company? Haven't you heard the saying?"
"What saying?" Fu Chen asked, his fingers lazily tapping the steering wheel as he listened intently.
"Life is precious, but love is priceless," Gu Chuyi declared, her tone brimming with the authority of a teacher.
Fu Chen snorted in amusement. "And what about you? You're still single."
Gu Chuyi quickly retorted, "That's because I haven't met the right guy yet. If I had, he'd already be mine."
"Is that so?" Fu Chen replied, his voice neutral, but his gaze lingering on her, his expression unreadable.
Drowsiness crept over Gu Chuyi. She mumbled something incoherent, her words lost on Fu Chen as she drifted off to sleep.
At the Luo Corporation office.
"Boss, our raw materials have been completely bought out, forcing the factory to halt production," the assistant reported, his voice trembling as he kept his head down.
Luo Jianguo's face was weary, his eyes dull, but he slammed his desk in fury.
"I've been feeding you useless lot! Get those materials at any price—I don't care how much it costs."
"Boss, the supplier said they won't sell us any wood no matter how much we offer..." The assistant's voice trailed off, his head hanging low, afraid to meet Luo Jianguo's gaze.
"Get out of my sight!" Luo Jianguo roared, sweeping everything off his desk in a fit of rage, his eyes blazing.
The assistant wiped the sweat from his brow and quickly exited the office.
Luo Jianguo's face was clouded with worry, anxiety gnawing at him. It seemed their enemy was intent on bringing Luo Corporation to its knees.
They had just signed a contract, and if they couldn't deliver on time, they'd have to pay the other party ten billion yuan in penalties.
One moment, Luo Jianguo had been basking in the success of securing the contract; the next, he was plunged into despair.
He couldn't shake the suspicion that he'd fallen into someone's trap. But as he racked his brain, he couldn't think of anyone he had wronged enough to want to destroy him.
With a heavy sigh, Luo Jianguo returned home, his spirits crushed.
As soon as he stepped through the door, he heard Zhu Shulan chatting loudly on the phone, her voice grating on his already frayed nerves.
Zhu Shulan shot him a glance but didn't acknowledge him, continuing her cheerful conversation.
Feeling even more stifled, Luo Jianguo turned to head to his room, but Luo Qianqian emerged from her room just then. "Dad, why are you home so early today?"
"Mm." Luo Jianguo replied with a lifeless grunt.
Luo Qianqian eagerly approached him, clinging to his arm and whining, "Dad, you cut my allowance last month, so I couldn't buy the bag I wanted. Can you give me a little extra this month?"
She pouted, shaking his arm as she pleaded.
Luo Jianguo remained silent for a few seconds before sighing, "We'll talk about it later. I need to rest now."
He shook off her hand, brushed past her, and headed to his room, slamming the door behind him.
Luo Qianqian sneered inwardly, cursing him as a stingy freeloader.
Zhu Shulan hung up the phone, her tone annoyed. "What's his problem? Coming home and sulking like that?"
Luo Qianqian put on a show of concern. "Maybe Dad's just in a bad mood."
Zhu Shulan set her phone aside and turned to her daughter with a smile. "Sweetie, if your dad won't give you money for the bag, I'll get it for you."
Luo Qianqian beamed and hugged Zhu Shulan, her voice sweet and affectionate. "Thanks, Mom. You're the best."
Zhu Shulan chuckled. "You're my daughter. Who else would I spoil if not you?"
A smug smile crept onto Luo Qianqian's face.
