Chi Ye stared wide-eyed, unable to snap out of his shock. Chi Yu had been hit!

“Brother Yu, it’s all my fault. I’m sorry,” Luo Qianqian pretended to come to mediate, her eyes filled with tears.

Chi Yu sneered, his face full of disdain. The imprint of a slap was clearly visible on his face. Chi Ye raised a hand to touch his own face.

“I wish you would be locked up forever and not harm anyone else,” Chi Yu said coldly.

“What did you say?” Chi Ye’s body trembled slightly, his face grim, his eyes bloodthirsty.

Chi Ye maintained a stern expression and deliberately repeated, “Did you not hear? You’ll end up locked up. Didn’t you understand?”

With that, Chi Ye turned angrily and left the Chi family home.

Chi Yu’s face turned alternately green and pale with rage. “Stop right there! I’m going to give you a proper lesson.”

Luo Qianqian urged him, “Brother Yu, I don’t want you to argue with Chi Ye because of me. It’s all my fault. Please don’t be angry.”

As she spoke, Luo Qianqian placed her delicate hand on Chi Yu’s, rubbing it affectionately.

Chi Yu, after a few moments of silence, realized what she was doing and forcefully shook off Luo Qianqian’s hand.

Luo Qianqian lost her balance and nearly fell.

“Brother Yu...” Luo Qianqian looked at him with a face full of grievance, wanting to say something but hesitating.

Chi Yu regained his composure and said in a low, hoarse voice, “You should go back. I’m tired and want to rest.”

Luo Qianqian had many more things she wanted to say, but though she didn’t want to leave, she reluctantly remained silent for a few seconds before saying, “Brother Yu, I’ll go back now. Please rest well.”

“Mm.” Chi Yu nodded mechanically, then had the servant show her out.

Meanwhile, Chi Ye stormed away from the Chi family home, cursing Chi Yu as a bastard, an idiot, a big fool...

Chi Yu wandered for about half an hour, not sure where to go. Since it was the weekend, he didn’t have to return to the company. He reached into his pocket, which was emptier than his face, and realized he hadn’t even brought his wallet when he rushed out, now finding himself penniless.

An idea suddenly struck him, and he decided to visit Sister Weiwei. Excited, he pulled out his phone and dialed Luo Wei’s number.

Luo Wei was organizing her belongings, as she had a small habit of tidying things up.

“Ring, ring—”

The phone rang. Luo Wei put down what she was holding, stood up, and retrieved her phone from behind the sofa. It showed Chi Ye’s call.

“Xiao Ye, what’s up?” Luo Wei answered quickly, her tone casual and relaxed.

There was a moment of silence on the other end.

Luo Wei furrowed her brows and asked, “Xiao Ye?”

“Sister Weiwei, I...”

“What’s wrong? Hurry up and tell me. I’m getting worried. What happened?” Luo Wei asked anxiously.

“Can I come over to your place?” Chi Ye asked slowly.

Realizing Chi Ye was in a bad mood, Luo Wei immediately agreed, “Of course. I’ll send you the address.”

Luo Wei sent her location to Chi Ye via WeChat and then ended the call.

Luo Wei continued to organize the items in the living room, placing everything in its proper place.

Mo Huai walked over from the kitchen with freshly washed kumquats and strawberries, his tone caring, “Have you been organizing all morning? Are you tired?”

As he spoke, Mo Huai picked a strawberry from the plate and put it in the girl’s mouth.

The sweet, creamy taste of the strawberry filled Luo Wei’s mouth. She couldn’t help but praise, “Wow, this strawberry is so sweet. It would be perfect if there were strawberry milkshakes.”

Mo Huai paused, a smile forming at the corner of his mouth, “Do you like strawberry milkshakes?”

Luo Wei nodded, smiling, and slowly ate another strawberry.

Luo Wei’s cheeks puffed out with the strawberries, which Mo Huai found incredibly cute.

“Ding dong ding dong—” The doorbell rang.

Hearing the bell, Luo Wei quickly got up and went to open the door. As she opened it, she saw Chi Ye standing right in front of her.

Chi Ye’s lips curved into a smile, “Sister Weiwei.”

“Come in,” Luo Wei invited Chi Ye inside.

Chi Ye stepped into the house and unexpectedly saw the tall, dignified man. He greeted, “Brother-in-law.”

Mo Huai seemed pleased with the title, smiling lightly, then turned to look at Luo Wei as if asking why he was there.

Luo Wei pulled Mo Huai aside and whispered, “Xiao Ye has grown up with me; he’s like a real younger brother. He seems to be in a bad mood today, so I invited him over.”

Mo Huai nodded in understanding and said nothing more.

Luo Wei turned back to Chi Ye, smiling gently, “Xiao Ye, why did you suddenly come to see me? Is something wrong?”

Chi Ye suddenly lifted his head, meeting her gaze before quickly looking away.

Luo Wei noticed the red marks on Chi Ye’s face and seemed to understand something. She quickly approached and examined his face closely.

Luo Wei’s voice trembled with concern, “Who hit you?” She turned his face to get a better look at his handsome features.

“It’s nothing. It doesn’t hurt anymore,” Chi Ye said, trying to appear casual and forcing a weak smile.

Luo Wei’s nose felt sour as she sighed and said, “Then you should stay at the Supreme Mansion for the next few days.”

Chi Ye was silent for a few seconds, glancing at the man standing nearby, and asked hesitantly, “Is that alright...”

“Of course,” Luo Wei responded enthusiastically.

Chi Ye’s gaze remained on the man, waiting for his response.

After a long pause, Mo Huai’s deep and rich voice came through, “You can stay for the next few days.”

“Oh yeah, that’s great!” Chi Ye jumped up in excitement upon hearing the man’s reply.

Luo Wei looked at Chi Ye’s face, her own expression softening into a smile. Mo Huai stared intently at the girl, and his mood suddenly improved.

Dinner.

A variety of dishes had been prepared by Wang Ma: shrimp, crab tofu, steamed bass, and more.

“Xiao Ye, eat more,” Luo Wei said, serving Chi Ye food and asking about his well-being.

“Mm, yes, thank you, Sister Weiwei,” Chi Ye replied, nodding absentmindedly and taking a bite of rice.

Meanwhile, the man sitting nearby had a sour expression. The temperature in the room seemed to drop to zero as Mo Huai brooded. The girl had never been this concerned about him or served him food.

Mo Huai felt a pang of jealousy, his face darkening. Chi Ye noticed the man’s cold demeanor and, feeling uneasy, lowered his head and ate quickly.

“Xiao Ye, don’t just eat rice; have some more vegetables,” Luo Wei said, thinking Chi Ye was being shy.

“Alright,” Chi Ye thought desperately to avoid Mo Huai’s piercing gaze. If looks could kill, he would have been sliced to pieces by now.

After dinner.

Luo Wei and Chi Ye were in the living room watching anime, laughing and enjoying themselves.

Mo Huai came from the kitchen carrying a glass of freshly made milkshake. Luo Wei’s eyes lit up with surprise, “Wow, strawberry milkshake...” Her gaze sparkled with delight.

“Helps with vitamin C intake,” Mo Huai said, his expression remaining calm.

“Hmm...” Luo Wei hesitated. Since childhood, she and Chi Ye had always shared everything equally, and Chi Ye usually kept the best for himself.

After some thought, Luo Wei decided to offer the milkshake to Chi Ye, “Xiao Ye, you have this. You like strawberries the most.”

As Mo Huai turned to leave, he heard Luo Wei’s words and stopped in his tracks. He slowly turned around, coldly glaring at Chi Ye.

Chi Ye shivered, feeling uncomfortable under Mo Huai’s intense gaze.
