Luo Wei stood in front of the scale, a triumphant smile appearing on her face as she raised her hand in a victory gesture. Thanks to the attentive care of Wang Ma and the strict supervision of Mo Huai, her weight had finally increased.

At that moment, Luo Wei was filled with pride, grinning as she boasted to the man beside her, "Not bad, right? It's all because I've worked so hard." Mo Huai stood next to her, gazing at her indulgently with a smile on his face and a sparkle in his eyes. "Weiwei, you're truly amazing," he said, gently patting the top of her head before helping her step off the scale and then bending down to carefully help her put on her shoes.

"Weiwei, hard work pays off, but you're still too thin. You need to eat more in the future," Wang Ma said as she brought over some almond snacks.

Luo Wei chuckled, grabbing a handful of almonds and popping them into her mouth. "Wang Ma, I'll keep up the good work, hehe."

"You're doing great, Weiwei," Wang Ma said, the wrinkles around her eyes deepening with joy.

After lunch, Luo Wei had a video call with Mo Huai's parents, while Mo Huai was left to the side. Mo Huai's father implied that after seeing his son for over twenty years, he now preferred to spend this video call time focusing on his daughter-in-law instead.

"Weiwei, I've missed you so much since you last visited," Mo Huai's mother said warmly, her tone full of affection.

"Mom, I miss you too. Mo Huai and I will visit you again soon," Luo Wei replied with a sweet smile.

"Weiwei, you're so obedient, much more so than that brat," Mo Huai's father remarked sternly.

Standing to the side, Mo Huai sighed, feeling a twitch in his brow as he thought to himself that his father was clearly favoring his daughter-in-law over his own son.

"Exactly," Mo Huai's mother chimed in.

Mo Huai shook his head helplessly, listening to his parents' voices over the phone.

Luo Wei couldn't help but smile, sneaking a glance at the man beside her before clearing her throat. "Dad, Mom, thank you for your concern. Please take good care of yourselves and make sure to exercise regularly. After all, you'll need to keep up with your future grandson!"

"Ah, Weiwei is absolutely right," Mo Huai's mother nodded enthusiastically.

Mo Huai's father countered, "What grandson? I think it's going to be a granddaughter—I prefer granddaughters."

"Whether it's a grandson or a granddaughter, it doesn't matter. As long as it's a child from the Mo family, they should be welcomed with open arms," Mo Huai's mother playfully nudged her husband.

Watching their loving interaction, Luo Wei couldn't help but laugh.

After saying a few more reluctant goodbyes, Luo Wei ended the video call.

"All done? Thirsty?" Mo Huai asked gently, setting down the magazine he had been reading.

"Mm-hmm," Luo Wei nodded, grinning widely.

Mo Huai stood up and headed to the kitchen, while Luo Wei picked up her phone to browse Weibo's trending topics.

"Ding-dong—" The doorbell rang, and Luo Wei got up to answer it.

As soon as she opened the door, Gu Chuyi's charming face appeared before her. "Hi, I'm here!" Gu Chuyi exclaimed.

Luo Wei was momentarily stunned, then smiled. "What's up? Come on in."

Gu Chuyi, dressed in a white dress that perfectly accentuated her curves, had her hair tied in a ponytail, looking youthful and vibrant. She carried a handbag and a shopping bag, changing into slippers at the entrance before stepping inside.

Glancing around, Gu Chuyi casually remarked, "My dear, ever since you got pregnant, we've barely seen each other. It's all Mo Dog's fault..."

Luo Wei smiled wryly, "We'll have plenty of chances to meet."

Gu Chuyi clicked her tongue, "Mo Dog better be treating you well. If not, I'll..."

She made a wicked face and mimed a violent gesture.

Luo Wei shivered slightly, about to respond when she was interrupted.

"What are you doing here? And bad-mouthing me in my own house?" Mo Huai walked in, carrying a glass of mint lemonade, his voice sharp.

Gu Chuyi glanced at him and then back at Luo Wei, sticking out her tongue and mouthing, "Why didn't you tell me he was here?"

Luo Wei shrugged with a smile.

Gu Chuyi forced a dry laugh, then grinned cheekily, "You're here too, huh?"

"What do you think? This is my house," Mo Huai replied lazily, his tone flat.

Gu Chuyi felt a bit embarrassed, but when she noticed the drink in his hand, she smiled, thinking he was being hospitable. "Thanks," she said, reaching out for the glass, but Mo Huai walked right past her and handed it to Luo Wei instead.

Gu Chuyi's face twisted into an awkward smile as sweat formed on her forehead.

Mo Huai handed the mint lemonade to Luo Wei, who, with a generous smile, offered it to Gu Chuyi. "Chuyi, have some water."

Gu Chuyi turned up the corners of her mouth but declined, "No thanks, if I drank it, someone might just finish me off."

Luo Wei chuckled, looking at Gu Chuyi's mischievous expression, and curiously asked, "Why are you so free to visit today?"

Remembering the reason for her visit, Gu Chuyi clapped her hands and held up the shopping bag. "My brother asked me to design some maternity clothes for you. Try them on and see if they're comfortable. If not, I'll change the fabric."

"Your brother's request?" Luo Wei frowned, wondering when Gu Xiu had started caring so much about her.

Gu Chuyi glanced at Mo Huai, pursing her lips. "My brother's request is actually your man's request."

Luo Wei frowned, surprise flashing across her face before she turned to look at him, suddenly understanding.

"Thank you, Chuyi," Luo Wei said, feeling warmth in her heart, her eyes sparkling.

"No need to thank me. You're my best friend. Even without Mo Dog... uh, I mean, without your man asking, I'd be happy to design clothes for you."

"I made them in your favorite color, using the finest fabrics that even celebrities can't buy," Gu Chuyi boasted.

"But... won't they be expensive?" Luo Wei asked, her eyebrows knitting together in curiosity.

Gu Chuyi burst into laughter, "How expensive can a few outfits be? Anyway, Mo Huai will cover the cost—it's only about a hundred thousand yuan."

"What?" Luo Wei was speechless. A few pieces of clothing cost a hundred thousand? She used to work hard all year and couldn't even earn that much.

"Oh, stop making a fuss. No need to save money for Mo Huai, you know that, right?" Gu Chuyi squinted her eyes, her tone sly.

"Why buy such expensive clothes?" Luo Wei walked over to Mo Huai, clutching the hem of his shirt, her voice lowering.

Mo Huai smiled faintly, his thin lips parting slightly. "I think Chuyi is right. No need to save money for me, got it?"

Luo Wei curled her fingers, feeling overwhelmed. The world of the rich was still so confusing to her—these wealthy people had no idea of the struggles of the poor...

Just then, Gu Chuyi's WeChat notification buzzed. She placed the shopping bag aside and pulled her phone from her handbag.

Why is it him again?
