Luo Wei sat on the chair, basking in the sunlight. Her eyes were half-closed, and the sun illuminated her fair cheeks, creating a pleasing sight. She slowly opened her eyes and picked up a prenatal education book beside her, casually flipping through it.
“Are you hungry? Do you want something to eat?” A man’s deep and rich voice sounded.
Luo Wei instinctively turned around and saw the man dressed impeccably in a black suit and a dark blue tie, looking as handsome as a god descended to earth.
“I’m not hungry,” Luo Wei replied with a gentle smile, enjoying the warmth of the sun.
The man walked over to her, bent down, and with a smile on his lips, said, “I need to go back to the company for a while. If anything comes up, remember to call me.”
He lifted his hand to gently pat the top of her head, his gaze intense.
“Okay, you should go quickly,” Luo Wei responded, nudging him to hurry back to the company.
Not long ago, Mo Huai had already informed her that there was a project at the company that required his presence as the president, making it necessary for him to attend a meeting.

Lately, she’d developed a strange obsession with pudding, eating over a dozen in a row and still wanting more. Mo Huai had already issued a stern warning, forbidding her from eating any more pudding.

“You…” Luo Wei’s eyes flashed with confusion. She had blocked all calls from the Luo family and Chi Yu to avoid their harassment, but she hadn’t expected Luo Qianqian to call from an unknown number.
“The Luo family is in ruins now. You must be happy, you ungrateful wretch, you jinx.” Luo Qianqian’s loud curses were sharp and harsh.
Luo Wei took a deep breath, steadying herself, and interrupted, “I don’t know what you’re talking about. Is there something you need?”
Before she could finish her sentence, Luo Qianqian’s mocking laughter cut through the line. “Playing dumb, are you? I can’t stand that pitiful act of yours. Is this how you seduced Mr. Mo?”
Luo Qianqian continued her tirade, “After all these years of raising you, you’re now trying to destroy the Luo family. You’re the worst kind of person, the most poisonous. The people in our family are now living like ghosts, barely recognizable.”
Luo Wei couldn’t bear to listen to the woman’s madness any longer. When had she ever tried to destroy the Luo family? This was utter nonsense.
“I’m hanging up—” Luo Wei began but was cut off by a furious voice.
“You had Mo Huai bankrupt the Luo Corporation, and now you’re acting innocent? I despise people like you, who are two-faced.” Luo Qianqian roared.
Luo Wei tightened her grip on the phone, unable to believe what she was hearing. “What?”
The cold laughter on the other end of the line sent chills down her spine. “Mo Huai has ordered all businesses and companies in Beijing not to hire Dad. Now Dad can’t find a job, and Mom is out of money. You’ve driven the three of us to the brink. You’ve won. You’ve won.”
It seemed that Luo Qianqian wanted to vent all her anger as she continued to berate Luo Wei over the phone.
Luo Wei was too stunned to respond. Why had he done this behind her back, causing the Luo Corporation to go bankrupt?
“Hello! Hello! Are you mute now, or are you secretly laughing?” Luo Qianqian shouted impatiently, continuing, “Mom’s health has been poor these past few days, and I’m at my wit’s end. Do you want to see me dead?”
A complex mix of emotions surged through Luo Wei as she pulled the phone away from her ear and ended the call.
