The days passed peacefully and warmly, and finally, her birthday arrived.
On this day, Luo Wei lingered in bed as sunlight streamed through the window, casting a soft glow on her fair skin. As she slept soundly, she suddenly felt a damp sensation on her left cheek, accompanied by hot breaths against her face. A tingling sensation spread through her body.
Luo Wei frowned slightly, slowly opening her eyes, still groggy. The first thing she saw was the man's handsome face with its delicate, chiseled features. She moved her lips and said, "Good morning." Rubbing her eyes, she lazily stretched and yawned.
"It's not early, lazy pig," Mo Huai teased, gently pinching her cheek with a smile.
Luo Wei immediately flopped onto the man's lap, muttering, "Why did you get up so early? Haven't you heard that the early worm gets eaten by the bird?" She turned her head to look out the window, where the sun was shining brightly on a crisp autumn day. "The weather is so nice today," she remarked. Mo Huai helped her sit up properly and tapped her nose, saying, "Birthday girl, time to get up."
"Hmm?" Luo Wei blinked for a few seconds before realizing, and then patted her thigh. "Oh right, it's July 8th today." She looked at the man with a wide grin. "Hehe, since it's my birthday today, let me sleep a little longer." Mo Huai glanced at her without saying a word, then leaned down, scooped her up in his arms, and carried her to the bathroom.
Pouting, Luo Wei let him help her brush her teeth, wash her face, change clothes, and put on her shoes.
By the time she was ready, it was already noon. She was wearing a beige dress, and being seven months pregnant, Mo Huai carried her downstairs.
Luo Wei looked around the carefully decorated living room on the first floor, which had a festive atmosphere. She was surprised and asked in a daze, "When did all this get set up?" Aunt Wang emerged from the kitchen, holding a cup of soy milk. "Weiwei, you're awake! The young master got up early this morning to do all this. It looks great, doesn't it? The young master has such good taste." Luo Wei turned her head in shock to look at him. "You did this?" She had no idea he could be so thoughtful.
"Yes," Mo Huai replied with a slight smile, taking the soy milk from Aunt Wang.
"This is homemade soy milk by Aunt Wang," Mo Huai said softly, bringing the cup to her lips.
Luo Wei took the cup and gulped it down, savoring the aroma of soybeans. It wasn't too sweet, just the pure fragrance of soybeans.
"Slow down, or you'll choke," Mo Huai gently patted her back.
Luo Wei finished the drink, wiped her mouth with her sleeve, and said, "It's really good."
"As long as you like it, I'll make it for you again next time," Aunt Wang said, taking the cup with a bright smile.
"Thank you, Aunt Wang," Luo Wei said, smiling so wide that it nearly reached her ears. At this moment, she felt truly warm.
"Ding dong—" The doorbell rang.
Aunt Wang hurried to answer the door, and as it opened, she heard Chi Ye's cheerful voice.
"Aunt Wang," Chi Ye greeted loudly.
Aunt Wang replied enthusiastically, "Xiao Ye, you're here!" Behind him stood Gu Chuyi and Su Yuxin.
"Miss Gu, Miss Su, come in, come in," Aunt Wang said, beaming.
Luo Wei froze for a moment. Why did they suddenly show up?
Gu Chuyi walked in and, seeing the grand setup in the living room, clicked her tongue in amazement. "Did Mo Da Shaoye do all this himself?" she teased, glancing at Mo Huai standing to the side.
Luo Wei couldn't help but smile. "Why don't you take a guess?"
Gu Chuyi wrinkled her nose playfully. "I don't need to guess; I already know." Su Yuxin walked over and took Luo Wei's hand. "Weiwei, happy birthday! Long time no see. Your complexion..." Luo Wei touched her cheek at the remark. "My complexion?"
Su Yuxin patted the back of her hand. "Your complexion is glowing. It's true, having a man really makes a difference." She winked at her suggestively.
Luo Wei blushed instantly, while Gu Chuyi chimed in, "Ah, you're making me want to find a boyfriend too. Where can I find a man? I'm so desperate I could pounce on one like a hungry wolf..." Her joke was cut off by Aunt Wang's voice.
"Young Master Fu, you've arrived."
Gu Chuyi turned around and saw Fu Chen standing behind her, his expression cold and distant.
Fu Chen walked past Gu Chuyi and said, "Cousin-in-law, happy birthday." He handed a beautifully wrapped gift box to Luo Wei.
Luo Wei took the box, smiling. "Thank you." Gu Xiu and Xu Kaifeng also came over, each with carefully prepared gifts. As Luo Wei looked at everyone, a warm feeling surged in her heart. Today was the happiest day of her life.
Aunt Wang was busy preparing ingredients for the birthday party, while in the living room, Gu Chuyi and Chi Ye were fighting over the microphone, playfully teasing each other.
Luo Wei wore a birthday headband with a delicate hairpin and couldn't suppress her smile.
Mo Huai came in, pushing a ten-layer birthday cake. The lively atmosphere in the living room came to an abrupt halt.
Luo Wei was completely stunned. This cake was three times the size of the one from Luo Qianqian's birthday.
Mo Huai pushed the cake cart to her and said in a deep, resonant voice, "Happy birthday." Then he handed her a gift box and planted a deep kiss on her forehead.
Gu Chuyi and Chi Ye cheered from the side, "Kiss, kiss..."
Luo Wei blushed and lowered her head, too shy to look at the man.
Mo Huai shot them a cold glare, and Gu Chuyi and Chi Ye instantly fell silent.
Amidst the joyous laughter, Luo Wei blew out the candles.
After eating the cake, Gu Xiu and Fu Chen started playing games, and Fu Chen occasionally let out a string of curses. If Fu Chen's fans knew, their image of him would definitely shatter.
Gu Chuyi and Chi Ye continued their usual microphone battle, arguing over who had the right to be the karaoke star.
Luo Wei stood to the side, watching them with a smile that reached her eyes.
Su Yuxin appeared beside her at some point, holding a glass of red wine. "Weiwei, I'm genuinely happy for you."
Luo Wei understood the deeper meaning behind her words and took a deep breath. "Thank you, Xin Xin Jie, for all your care over the years."
Su Yuxin placed a hand on her shoulder and said lightly, "Silly girl, our friendship over the years is rock solid."
Luo Wei smiled softly and nodded, agreeing that her and Su Yuxin's friendship would last forever.
As night fell, everyone was tired from playing and began preparing to leave.
Gu Chuyi rode home with Gu Xiu, while Fu Chen, Chi Ye, and Xu Kaifeng all drove their own cars. Only Su Yuxin was left without a ride.
Su Yuxin didn't want to hold anyone up. After a full day of fun, she wanted them to head home early to rest, and she planned to take a taxi since they weren't going the same way.
All the men present firmly rejected her suggestion. How could they let a beautiful single lady take a strange car home alone?
In the end, Chi Ye took on the daunting task of driving Su Yuxin home.
Even though the distance between Chi Ye's home and hers was 50 kilometers, Su Yuxin thought of refusing since her motto was not to trouble others. But unable to decline, she reluctantly accepted the offer.
