Luo Wei had been waking up in the middle of the night frequently over the past few days. She thought it might be because the man was not by her side, or because she wasn’t being held by him as she fell asleep, which made her feel uneasy.

At 4 a.m., Luo Wei was wide awake and could not fall back asleep. She lay in bed, staring blankly at the ceiling, counting the two days remaining until his return.

Thinking about this, Luo Wei’s lips curled into a faint smile, and a trace of sweetness spread through her heart.

Suddenly, she felt her mouth was a bit dry. She licked her lips and remembered how Mo Huai used to be her personal timekeeper, bringing her eight glasses of water each day. Now, without his supervision, she seemed unable to take proper care of herself.

She wondered if she had become spoiled by him. In the past, she had been a strong girl, but now, if she could rely on someone, she would. Luo Wei shook her head helplessly.

Determined, she resolved not to rely entirely on others in the future and to become an independent girl. No… she should say an independent and wealthy girl!

Luo Wei pulled up the blanket, put on slippers, and went to the kitchen, pouring herself a glass of warm water. She gulped down several mouthfuls and habitually wiped her mouth with her sleeve.

Suddenly, she remembered how Mo Huai used to criticize her for wiping her mouth with her sleeve and would always use a black silk handkerchief from his suit pocket to gently wipe her mouth or use his long, slender fingers to dab away the water droplets.

As she thought about this, a blush crept across her cheeks, and her heart felt as sweet as if she had eaten honey.

Wearing a thin nightgown, she felt a cold breeze blowing through the window and hugged her arms. She set the glass down and decided to go back to bed.

As she passed through the living room, she heard a rustling noise from outside, causing her ears to perk up.

Her hair stood on end, and her forehead broke out in a cold sweat. Could she be so unlucky as to encounter a thief while the man was away?

Her spine chilled, and her expression tensed as she shivered. The noise outside gradually quieted down, and after a while, the front door was suddenly pushed open.

Instinctively, Luo Wei grabbed the remote control from the coffee table as a weapon, her body drenched in cold sweat. She stepped back cautiously, her eyes fixed on the door.

She blinked, stunned and dumbfounded, as she saw the person she had been yearning for day and night standing before her.

Luo Wei thought she might be dreaming. She lifted her hand and gently slapped her cheek, trying to wake herself up.

The man across from her smiled and stepped closer with a powerful presence that seemed to shine like a beacon. The remote slipped from her hand with a crisp sound, breaking the silence.

Luo Wei gazed at the man approaching her, the reality of his presence overwhelming her. His warm smile, his unique, rich scent, and the sandalwood fragrance were all unmistakably him.

Overwhelmed with emotion, Luo Wei rushed to him, hugging him tightly. She buried her head in his chest, mumbling, “Am I still dreaming? If I am, please don’t let me wake up. I want to hold you… I…”

Unable to articulate her excitement, she looked up at him, asking, “Am I dreaming? How did you come back? Is this really you? Everything about you is so real.”

Mo Huai smiled, leaned down, and kissed her forehead. His voice was deep and seductive as he said, “I’m back.”

Luo Wei gently pushed him away, reaching up to caress his sculpted face. He looked tired, perhaps from the long flight, and she noticed dark circles under his eyes.

With a hint of sadness, Luo Wei asked, “Why did you come back suddenly?”

Mo Huai leaned in, touching his nose to hers, his voice soft and tender, “I missed you. I compressed seven days of work into five.”

Luo Wei sniffed, trying to hold back her tears, and lightly tapped his chest. “You fool, why make yourself so tired?”

She looked up at him, meeting his gaze, and said, “I’d be heartbroken if you overworked yourself.”

Mo Huai looked down at her, smiling, “Then do you miss me?”

Luo Wei’s face flushed instantly, and she buried her head in his chest. The comforting scent of sandalwood filled her nose. It was the scent she had been longing for, the one that helped her fall asleep quickly.

Mo Huai chuckled, his fingers gently turning her face towards him. His voice was magnetic and gentle, like a gravitational pull. “Hmm?”

Blushing deeply, Luo Wei was too shy to speak.

Mo Huai looked at her with amusement, his smile reaching his eyes. “If missing someone is worth ten points, how many would you give me, Weiwei? Or is it just a little bit like you said before? If it’s just a little bit, I’d be disappointed.”

He held her slender waist, his breath caressing her neck like a jolt of electricity.

Luo Wei curled her fingers, lifted her head, and looked at the man before her, still immersed in the joy of his return.

After a moment, Luo Wei said, word by word, “One hundred points.”

Mo Huai was taken aback for a moment before his face broke into a brilliant smile. He lifted her chin.

Luo Wei gazed at him with deep affection, and without saying a word, he kissed her passionately. She slowly closed her eyes, actively placing her hands on his waist.

Mo Huai’s large hands rested on the back of her head, taking control of the kiss and guiding her.

Tender and lingering...

By midday, with the sun high in the sky, Mo Huai was catching up on sleep in the room after his long day of travel, while Luo Wei had woken up early to ensure he had a good rest.

After having breakfast, Luo Wei picked up the novel and read it with great interest.

Whenever she came across a funny or touching part, her emotions were stirred, and she laughed and cried along with the characters in the book.

She laughed so hard that she nearly fell over, slapping her thighs and saying, “This author is so funny, haha!”

At that moment, the man came down the stairs and saw her laughing heartily. He couldn't help but smile slightly, “Is it that funny?”

Hearing his voice, Luo Wei turned her head, set the novel aside, and smiled brightly, “Oh, why are you up so early?”

“Mm,” Mo Huai replied, sitting down beside her and pulling her into his arms. He said softly, “It’s not good to sleep too much.”

Luo Wei clicked her tongue. Was he being sarcastic? She slept for ten hours a day and napped for two hours. Was that really so bad?

She twitched her nose and asked with a hint of skepticism, “So if I sleep twelve hours a day, is that not good either?”

Mo Huai smiled, rapped her on the head gently, and said, “Silly, when I say it’s not good to sleep too much, I mean I’m worried you’d be bored alone, so I came down to keep you company.”

Luo Wei fell silent for a few seconds, then leaned over and planted a kiss on his face, showing her teeth in a wide grin. “Hehe, Mo Ge is the best to me.”

Mo Huai gently stroked her hair and said, “In this world, it’s enough for me to be good to only you.”

This… why did that line sound so familiar? Did Mo Huai also watch idol dramas?

Never mind, Luo Wei shook her head, her face turning red again.

With a smile on his lips, Mo Huai looked at her tenderly, his smile never fading.

The Mozart chocolates and crystal ball on the cabinet seemed to be smiling too, as they watched the warm interaction between the two in the living room.
