Counting the days on her fingers, Luo Wei finally waited four or five days, with two more days until Mo Huai returned to the country.

In these days without him, her heart was unbearably tortured. Every time he sent a video, she always appeared with a smiling face. He hadn’t noticed how severe her longing was.

“Ding ding—” The phone rang.

Luo Wei picked up the phone; it was a call from Gu Chuyi.

“Chuyi, what’s up?” Luo Wei said softly.

On the other end came a hint of mischief, “Nothing, just wanted to chat.”

Luo Wei set the phone on speaker and put it aside, holding a novel in her hands.

“Mo Huai is on a business trip?” Gu Chuyi asked curiously.

“Mm.” Luo Wei paused before continuing, “It’s been the fifth day since he went abroad.” To be precise, it should be five days, eight hours, and thirty-eight minutes...

Luo Wei didn’t finish the sentence.

Gu Chuyi giggled, teasing, “Wow, that’s a long time. Are you managing okay with a big belly? Do you want me to come over and keep you company?”

Luo Wei shook her head and replied, “No need, Wang Ma is taking care of me. You’re so busy with work, it’s not necessary.”

“Alright then.” Gu Chuyi replied slowly.

“By the way, did the results of the fashion competition come out?” Luo Wei asked, puzzled.

Gu Chuyi sighed, “Ugh, don’t mention it. It was a huge mess, very unlucky.”

Luo Wei’s forehead showed a question mark, “What happened? Tell me.”

Gu Chuyi complained, “The organizers messed up the competition schedule. Now it’s all in vain and postponed to next month.”

“Ah!” Luo Wei was surprised and said discontentedly, “Messed up the schedule? That’s too much.” She emphasized each word.

Her voice was full of sympathy and regret.

“Exactly, I even stayed up a few nights.” Gu Chuyi said angrily.

“Alright, don’t be upset.” Luo Wei comforted her, “Do your best next month.”

“Let’s take it one step at a time. When is Mo Huai coming back?” Gu Chuyi redirected the topic.

Luo Wei shrugged. As soon as she heard his name again, her longing surged like a tide. She missed him even more.

Luo Wei was silent for a few seconds, “Sunday.”

“Oh, then there are two more days. Do you really not need me to come over?” Gu Chuyi asked with concern.

“No need, I can take care of myself, hehe.” Luo Wei smiled, feeling that two days would pass quickly.

After chatting with Gu Chuyi for a while, Luo Wei ended the call and prepared to sleep.

Luo Wei had developed a habit these days of opening WeChat. The first message was always from him, and Luo Wei’s face would show a fond smile.

She opened his WeChat chat window, and the message was warm.

[My baby, good night!]

Although it was just a few short words, it was enough to sustain her until he returned to the country.

Luo Wei felt warmth in her heart and replied casually.

[Good night!]

Then she put down her phone, lay on her side in bed, and stared intently at the other side of the bed—the place where he used to sleep.

Unable to resist, Luo Wei reached out and touched the pillow, as if his warmth still lingered there, his breath and scent still surrounding her.

Luo Wei lowered her eyelids, hugging his pillow tightly, as if he were embracing her. At that moment, with her eyes tightly closed, she felt his presence.

Unknowingly, Luo Wei drifted into sleep, having a night of sweet dreams.

Meanwhile, in Europe, in the presidential suite.

Mo Huai sat on the sofa, holding his phone, with WeChat messages from the girl still displayed on the screen.

He elegantly took a sip of wine, his Adam’s apple rolling a couple of times involuntarily, exuding a sensual allure.

These days, dealing with the mess here, he had barely slept for three hours each night. Despite the lack of rest, his deep, well-defined features showed no signs of fatigue.

Xu Kaifeng commented that Mo Huai was energetic, not like an ordinary person.

Mo Huai used his exceptional intelligence and business skills to revive the European operations. What had stumped the company’s leadership for a month was effortlessly resolved by him.

He put down his wine glass and picked up his phone, opening the album, which was filled with photos he had taken of the girl while she was asleep.

The photos showed the girl with a sweet smile, her cherry-red lips, fair skin glowing, and her small face. Mo Huai was lost in thought.

He couldn’t help but gently stroke the photos of the sleeping girl.

“Knock, knock—”

The knocking grew louder.

Mo Huai snapped out of his reverie, cleared his throat, and stood up to open the door.

Xu Kaifeng, looking curious, furrowed his brows and thought to himself, What is Mr. Mo doing? I’ve been ringing the doorbell for five minutes; why is it taking so long to open?

“What’s the matter?” Mo Huai asked softly, glancing at him.

Xu Kaifeng stood up straight, his voice warm, “Mr. Mo, the Mozart chocolate and the crystal ball you asked for have been bought.”

Mo Huai’s gaze fell on the gift box in Xu Kaifeng’s hand—pink and delicate.

Mo Huai nodded in satisfaction and took the gift box.

He held it carefully in his hands, as if it were precious jewelry, his eyes sparkling with excitement.

After a while, Mo Huai smiled slightly and said, “Book an afternoon flight.”

Xu Kaifeng was stunned, not believing what he heard, “Mr. Mo, are you saying... going back to the country now?”

Xu Kaifeng blinked, thinking he might have heard wrong.

“Book the afternoon flight.” Xu Kaifeng finally understood; Mr. Mo wanted to return home this afternoon.

Although the business in Europe was finished, there was no need to rush back. Moreover, Mr. Mo only slept three hours a night. Wasn’t he tired?

Xu Kaifeng felt a pang of bitterness and said with a wry smile, “Mr. Mo, you’ve been working late nights and overworking. Is your health okay? Perhaps...”

Mo Huai waved his hand to decline, his voice crisp, “It’s nothing. It’s not a big deal for me.”

Xu Kaifeng clicked his tongue, feeling that only someone like Mr. Mo, known for his efficiency and feared in Yan Jing City, could handle this.

Mo Huai looked down at the photo of the girl on his phone, his eyes filled with tenderness and affection.

Xu Kaifeng accidentally glanced at it and finally understood why Mr. Mo was so eager to go back.

Turns out, he missed his wife back home!

Xu Kaifeng secretly smiled, realizing that Mr. Mo was indeed love-struck.

Xu Kaifeng looked up and met Mr. Mo’s cold gaze, which startled him. He quickly returned to his usual stern expression.

Xu Kaifeng booked the afternoon flight, and with all business in Europe taken care of, Mo Huai eagerly embarked on his journey back home.

In the airport waiting area, Mo Huai sent a text message to the girl.

[Baby, have you been eating well? Do you miss me?]

After a few minutes, he received a reply.

[Yes, a little.]

Mo Huai’s lips curved into a light smile as he put his phone back in his pocket.

On the plane, Mo Huai half-closed his eyes, resting and hoping the plane would land soon so he could see the girl as early as possible.
