After Little Yueyi was born, Luo Wei and Mo Huai moved to the Bosch Manor villa. The place was more spacious and further from the city, providing better air quality.

With the help of a caregiver, Luo Wei quickly recovered her health. Before she realized it, next week would be Yueyi's full-month celebration. According to Mo Huai’s father, as a descendant of the Mo family, it was important to have a grand banquet. However, Luo Wei wanted a more low-key event, just inviting close friends and family.

Mo Huai had no objections and supported her idea, and after some thought, his father agreed as well.

On this day, Luo Wei was playing with her little baby in the living room. The baby was especially close to her mother, so much so that even Mo Huai was getting a bit jealous— the child wouldn’t leave her side for twenty-four hours a day.

Mo Huai didn’t even get a chance to cuddle with her!

The caregiver and Aunt Wang had gone out to do some major shopping and wouldn’t be back for another hour. Mo Huai had also left for a meeting at his company.

Now it was just her and her baby at home, their laughter echoing through the living room.

“Ding dong—” The doorbell rang. Luo Wei frowned slightly, assuming Aunt Wang had forgotten her keys, and picked up the baby to answer the door.

Luo Wei froze.

Standing at the door was not Aunt Wang, but the person she had been avoiding— Zhu Shulan.

Zhu Shulan seemed delighted to see Luo Wei answer the door and gave an awkward smile. "Weiwei."

The little baby snuggled closer into Luo Wei's neck and made a soft sound, seemingly uncomfortable with the stranger.

Zhu Shulan glanced down at the baby in Luo Wei's arms, tugging at the corners of her mouth. "Is this... my grandchild?"

Zhu Shulan was overjoyed. She had heard through the grapevine that Luo Wei had given birth to a daughter. Her longing had made her sick, and after repeatedly begging Zhu Shuli to find out Luo Wei's current address, he had finally caved in and used his connections to track it down.

When Zhu Shulan received the address, she cried tears of joy. It had been nearly a year since she last saw Luo Wei after they left home. She had so much to say to her, and she still hadn’t apologized. She blamed herself for everything.

Luo Wei coldly turned her head, patting the baby's back. "You should leave. I don’t want to see you."

Just as Luo Wei was about to close the door, Zhu Shulan blocked it. "Weiwei, listen to me. I'm sorry. I was wrong, I shouldn’t have treated you that way. It was all Luo Jianguo’s fault. I’ve already divorced him. Please, forgive me."

Luo Wei found it almost laughable. Zhu Shulan was apologizing? The woman who never cared enough to glance her way was now begging for forgiveness. Wasn’t it a bit too late?

With a cold smile, Luo Wei said, "Ms. Zhu, I will never forgive you, and I don’t want to see you again. Please leave."

Her voice was icy, and the order to leave was clear.

Zhu Shulan’s heart shattered, tears welling up and spilling over. "Weiwei, can you really bear to send me away? I finally found you. I truly regret everything. Please, give me a chance to make it right. Let me love you properly."

Her heightened emotions scared the baby in Luo Wei’s arms, who burst into tears. Luo Wei frantically tried to soothe her, glaring at Zhu Shulan. "Ms. Zhu, you’ve frightened the baby. Leave now, or I’ll call for help."

“No, no…” Zhu Shulan shook her head wildly, as if possessed.

"What do you think you’re doing?"

A deep, sharp voice cut through the tension.

Luo Wei looked up and furrowed her brow. An elderly man, leaning on a cane, was slowly walking toward them, followed by a bodyguard.

Zhu Shulan spoke nervously. "Dad, why are you here?"

Zhu Leiting shot her a harsh glare. "Do you even know what you’re doing? If Zhu Shuli hadn’t informed me, you would’ve completely disgraced the Zhu family."

His eyes blazed with anger, and he waved his cane.

“Dad, I just wanted to—”

“Go back to the car,” Zhu Leiting ordered, pointing at a black Rolls-Royce parked not far away.

“I’m not going!” Zhu Shulan stubbornly shook her head.

Zhu Leiting sighed and signaled to the tall bodyguard next to him. The bodyguard swiftly grabbed Zhu Shulan and dragged her toward the Rolls-Royce despite her struggles and cries.

Once Zhu Shulan was gone, Zhu Leiting calmed himself and turned to Luo Wei with a kind smile. “Miss Luo, I apologize for the trouble.”

He gave a gentlemanly bow, which flustered Luo Wei. She hurriedly replied, "It's nothing, really."

Luo Wei studied the man before her. Though he was elderly with white hair, he appeared quite vigorous and strong.

He was Zhu Shulan’s father, which made him her grandfather. It was the first time Luo Wei had met him, and her feelings were complicated. He seemed strict, but she found herself feeling oddly fond of him.

After a pause, Luo Wei hesitated and said, “Mr. Zhu, would you like to come in for some tea?”

Zhu Leiting’s hand, resting on his cane, trembled slightly. He glanced at the baby in her arms before shifting his gaze to her face. "No need. I’ll take my leave now."

With that, Zhu Leiting, with the help of his bodyguard, walked toward the luxury cars.

Still patting the baby’s back, Luo Wei whispered to herself, "That was the first time I met my grandfather. I wonder if he likes me?"

Little Yueyi gazed at her with bright, clear eyes and cooed softly.

Her only response was the silence around her...

After this incident, Mo Huai felt uneasy. He never expected Zhu Shulan would have the nerve to cause trouble. He suggested moving houses again, considering how many properties the Mo family owned. If anything happened to Luo Wei, the consequences would be dire.

But Luo Wei refused. She didn’t want to uproot their lives just because of a stranger. There was no reason to constantly be on the move. So, Mo Huai issued a new order: from now on, when shopping trips were made, not everyone should leave—someone must stay home to look after Luo Wei and Yueyi.

Aunt Wang and the caregivers, feeling guilty about what had happened, couldn’t stop blaming themselves. All because Caregiver A insisted on going out to eat the best snail noodles in Yanjing, which Aunt Wang didn’t even like, but she tagged along to avoid being a spoilsport.

Caregiver A, on the verge of tears, apologized to Luo Wei, “Miss Luo, I’m so sorry. It’s all my fault. I won’t sneak off to eat again.” Her eyes were brimming with tears, wetting her eyelashes.

Luo Wei waved her hand, smiling gently. “It’s okay, it’s not your fault. You must get bored being cooped up at home all the time. It’s only right that you go out and enjoy yourselves once in a while. I’m fine, so don’t beat yourself up about it, okay?”

Caregiver A started crying even harder. “Miss Luo, you’re so kind.”

With Mo Huai’s generous salary—ten times that of other places—and such a kind mistress, Caregiver A threw her arms around Luo Wei, her face lighting up with a childlike smile.
