The elevator stopped on the 25th floor. Fu Chen supported her as they stepped out, his deep, magnetic voice saying, "We're here."
Fu Chen opened the door with a keycard. The interior was luxurious, bathed in warm yellow lighting, making the winter evening feel exceptionally cozy. The atmosphere was just right.
Gu Chuyi, with her head lowered and her cheeks flushed like a boiled shrimp, mumbled as she walked in, "Where is this? Why aren’t we going home? Who... who are you?"
Rambling nonsense, Gu Chuyi stumbled forward. In a split second, her foot caught something, and she let out a startled cry, squeezing her eyes shut in fear, bracing for a painful fall to the ground.

Gu Chuyi forced a smile. "I just went to the restroom. Do you need help with something?"
"What’s wrong? You seem distracted. Is work giving you trouble?" Luo Wei raised an eyebrow, asking with concern.
"No, no." Gu Chuyi waved her hand. "I just didn’t sleep well last night. Enough about me, though. Today’s your big day. Go take care of the guests. Don’t worry about me, I can handle myself, hehe."
She laughed awkwardly, pretending everything was fine. Luo Wei gave her a look but didn’t press further, silently thinking it was probably about a relationship issue.
Based on the recent tension between Gu Chuyi and Fu Chen, Luo Wei suspected there was something going on between them. In her heart, she hoped they would end up together. Fu Chen, a national superstar, and Gu Chuyi would make a perfect match.
"What are you thinking about?" Mo Huai appeared beside Luo Wei, wrapping his arm around her waist and whispering in her ear.
"Nothing." Luo Wei snapped out of her thoughts and smiled at Mo Huai.
He playfully tapped her nose and whispered menacingly, "Don’t smile so brightly."
Then Mo Huai flashed a mischievous grin. Luo Wei stiffened, immediately understanding his underlying meaning, and her smile froze.
She couldn’t help but wonder if he ever got tired of it. Every night, without fail. But, considering his muscular physique from his love of fitness, it made sense. His stamina was excellent, and every time she begged him to stop, he would just ignore her and press on.
As he continued, Luo Wei silently cursed him as a 'beast,' though secretly enjoying every moment. Each time, she found herself learning something new, adding to her odd collection of 'knowledge.'
At the full moon banquet, Gu Chuyi coincidentally ended up sitting at the same table as Fu Chen. The awkwardness made her want to bury her face in the tofu in front of her and end it all right there.
She could feel Fu Chen's gaze piercing through her from across the table. With her head down, she shoveled rice into her mouth, not daring to pick up any dishes or even raise her eyes.
Sitting beside her, Meng Yebai noticed her strange behavior and teased, "Chuyi, what’s up? You’ve been quiet all night. Want to tell your brother what’s going on?"
Everyone at the table stopped eating, their eyes turning toward her.
"Yeah, Chuyi-jie, what's wrong?" Chi Ye chimed in, his eyes full of curiosity.
Gu Chuyi put down her chopsticks and slowly looked up, her smile more miserable than if she were crying. "Nothing’s wrong with me, hehe, see how happy I am?"
She pointed to her forced smile, determined to ignore the burning gaze from a certain someone.
"Gu Chuyi, did you get your heart broken?" Gu Xiu joked, grinning as he watched her.
She was about to take a sip of water to calm herself when Gu Xiu’s words made her choke, spitting out the water. "Bro, what are you even talking about?"
Flustered, she stomped her foot and slapped Gu Xiu on the arm.
Duan Xuan burst out laughing. "Haha, if it’s not true, then why are you so flustered? Have you really fallen in love?"
"No!" Gu Chuyi said firmly, pouting with a pitiful expression. "If you keep teasing me, I’ll curse you all!"
Fu Chen suddenly stepped in to defuse the situation. "How about we go sing karaoke after dinner? My treat."
"Karaoke?" Meng Yebai’s eyes lit up. "Awesome! I want to go to the fanciest karaoke room in Yanjing City. Only the best suits my title as the karaoke king!"
"Stop bragging." Gu Xiu rolled his eyes. "Where does that leave me, then?"
Meng Yebai shot him a murderous look, lunging to grab Gu Xiu by the neck, instantly lighting up the atmosphere.
Gu Chuyi breathed a sigh of relief, sneaking a glance at Fu Chen, her eyes filled with emotions that no one else could understand.
After the banquet, Fu Chen kept his promise and booked the most exclusive karaoke room in Yanjing City. Except for Luo Wei and Mo Huai, who stayed behind to take care of Yue Yi, everyone else joined for karaoke.
The private room was buzzing with energy. Meng Yebai and Chi Ye fought over the microphone, and the place was full of life.
Gu Chuyi watched them, amused. She remembered how she used to fight with Chi Ye over the microphone, but now it was Meng Yebai’s turn. She smiled brightly, watching them with a gentle warmth on her face.
