Last night, Su Yuxin learned that this Saturday, Chi Ye would take her home to meet his parents for the first time. Without a second thought, she flatly refused, then found an excuse to ignore him afterward.
Thinking about it, her brows furrowed, and she sighed heavily.
Seeing her troubled expression, Luo Wei couldn’t help but ask, “Sister Xin, what happened? Why are you sighing so early in the morning?”
Su Yuxin turned around, pouting, her voice muffled as she said, “Chi Ye said he wants to take me home to meet his parents on Saturday. I refused him, but I feel like he won’t let it go so easily. I really don’t want to go.”
Without hesitation, Luo Wei replied, “What’s the big deal? You and Chi Ye will have to meet each other's families sooner or later. It’s just a little earlier than expected. You’ll have to accept it.”

He advanced closer, and Su Yuxin found herself pressed against the wall, her palms sweating. Even if they were a couple, didn’t they not need to be this close?
Chi Ye suddenly leaned down, his warm breath brushing against her cheek, causing her heart to race and her face to flush. She stammered, “No need to try. I... I remember now.”
Chi Ye’s expression softened slightly, and he asked, “So, what does Xin Xin think?”
At this moment, Su Yuxin wished she could strangle him, but then she thought about how they were nearing the three-month mark of their relationship.

Chi Ye tilted his head slightly, their lips naturally pressing together, his warm breath swirling around her nose.

A Bentley was parked in front of the Chi family’s gate. Su Yuxin took a deep breath inside the car, raising her hand to steady her racing heartbeat.
Chi Ye turned his head to stare at her, flashing a proud smile that revealed his white teeth. “Sister Xin, you’re so nervous. It’s your first time meeting them.”
Su Yuxin shot him an annoyed glare and gritted her teeth, “It’s all your fault. I have to meet your annoying brother, and I can’t help but feel uncomfortable. I have a grudge against Chi Yu. Whenever I think about how he treated Wei Wei, it makes me mad. Do you understand?”
She huffed in frustration, and Chi Ye’s smile deepened as he reassured her, “I get what you mean, but my brother is my brother, and I’m me. Right now, I’m taking you to meet my parents, not my brother.”
Suddenly, Chi Ye leaned closer, kindly helping her unbuckle her seatbelt. “Alright, let’s get out of the car. We should head inside.”
Su Yuxin opened the car door and got out, while Chi Ye walked around to take her hand.
As soon as they entered the house, Chi Ye’s mother approached them enthusiastically, her smile wide. “Yuxin, you’re here!”

Chi Ye’s mother accepted the gift and handed it to a nearby servant before taking Su Yuxin’s hand to chat about casual things.
“Yuxin, you’re Wei Wei’s friend. I’ve heard so much about you from her but never got the chance to meet. I’m so happy to finally see you today.”
As she spoke, Chi Ye’s mother turned her gaze to Chi Ye, her tone mockingly stern. “Chi Ye, you better treat Yuxin well, you hear me? I’m very satisfied with her as my daughter-in-law.”
Su Yuxin couldn’t help but chuckle, feeling surprised. Satisfied? They were meeting for the first time, and she was already satisfied? Meeting parents didn’t seem so scary after all.
“Mom, I inherited Dad’s genes. Look how well Dad treats you, so you know I’ll be the best man in the world.”
Chi Ye tossed his hair, feeling quite pleased with himself.
"That's good then. Yuxin, Uncle can’t make it back today because of an unexpected incident at the company, so let’s just have a simple meal. Next time, we can have a proper dinner together, alright?"
Chi Ye pouted, clearly unhappy. "Mom, how can Dad do this? This is my first time bringing my girlfriend home, and the company isn’t more important than that."
Su Yuxin tugged at Chi Ye's sleeve, signaling him to be quiet. Chi Ye glanced at her and immediately shut his mouth.
With both Chi Father and Chi Yu absent, Su Yuxin secretly sighed in relief. Not having to see that annoying person made her feel much better.
After dinner, Chi Mother wore a warm smile, enthusiastically chatting with her in the living room and probing her for details.
Su Yuxin discovered she had a lot to talk about with Chi Mother. A good mother-in-law like her must be rare in this world.
"Yuxin, Aunty is very happy you came today. You're such a good girl. If Xiaoye ever bullies you, remember to tell me, and I’ll break his legs."
Chi Ye nearly choked on his drink. Was he picked up from a trash can?

Chi Mother displayed a satisfied smile, her expression bright.

After chatting for a while, Su Yuxin prepared to leave. After bidding farewell to Chi Mother, Chi Ye drove her home.
As they walked outside, Su Yuxin suddenly spotted a familiar figure. She furrowed her brows and cursed inwardly, running into him here was truly unfortunate!
Chi Yu glanced at them, his voice indifferent as he asked, "Going back?"
Su Yuxin remained silent, glaring coldly at him. The image of Luo Wei being bullied by him flashed through her mind, causing her expression to collapse in an instant.
Seeing that they were ignoring him, Chi Yu sneered and turned to head back into the house with his hands in his pockets.
Chi Ye took her hand, his voice soft and affectionate. "Your glare seems like it could swallow my brother whole."

"I can see that." Chi Ye affectionately tapped her nose, his voice sweetly teasing. "That’s why I’ve already bought a wedding house in Mingyuan Haoting."
