In the president's office of the Mo Corporation, Mo Huai sat behind his desk, wearing gold-rimmed glasses. His sharp, angled eyebrows, thin, pressed lips, and chiseled features exuded a cold, aloof demeanor, yet he carried an air of undeniable authority.

Mo Huai glanced at his Omega watch; it wasn't time to leave yet. Just then, there was a knock on the door. He lazily leaned back in his chair and said in a deep voice, "Come in."

Xu Kaifeng entered, bowed slightly, and said, "President Mo, I've completed the contract. Please review it, and if there are no issues, I'll finalize it."

Mo Huai, with an air of elegance, glanced at the contract on his desk. "We'll discuss it tomorrow. I'm leaving now," he replied coldly.

Hearing this, Xu Kaifeng instinctively looked at the clock on the wall; it wasn't time to leave yet. Knowing Mo Huai's dedication to his work, Xu Kaifeng was stunned. This was the first time he had seen Mo leave early since he started working here.

Xu Kaifeng was speechless, staring at Mo in disbelief. After a few seconds, he snapped back to reality and quickly responded, "Understood."

Mo Huai picked up his car keys, draped his suit jacket over his arm, and calmly walked out of the office. As Xu Kaifeng watched Mo leave, he couldn't help but wonder who could have made Mo break his usual routine. Could it be that girl from before? He mused, finding it hard to believe that the usually aloof and cold Mo Huai was acting like a man in love—a classic case of love-struck behavior.

For once, Mo Huai left work early today and went to the supermarket to buy fresh ribs, intending to make soup. After all, pregnant women need proper nourishment.

Mo Huai carried the groceries back to his luxurious home, changed into casual clothes, put on an apron, and headed to the kitchen. His tall figure busied itself in the kitchen, filling the house with the warmth of home. Previously, when he lived alone, Mo Huai never cooked. But lately, he had been following online recipes, and with his high intelligence, he only needed to watch once to learn. The dishes he made turned out both appetizing and delicious.

Business was slow at the shop today, so Luo Wei left work early. When she arrived downstairs, she saw Mo Huai's Maybach parked in the garage. In a cheerful mood, she opened the door.

"I'm back," Luo Wei said joyfully.

Mo Huai emerged from the kitchen, carrying the soup. Noticing Luo Wei's return, a smile played at the corners of his eyes. "Wash your hands, dinner's ready."

Luo Wei's mouth opened slightly as she looked at the man in front of her, who was wearing an apron with a large Pikachu on it. The sight was adorable and completely at odds with his tall and muscular appearance. She couldn't help but stifle a laugh.

Realizing her hidden amusement, Mo Huai looked down at the apron he was wearing. He carefully placed the soup on the table and slowly removed the apron, awkwardly explaining, "This is the only apron I have, so I had to make do."

He gave a slightly embarrassed smile.

Luo Wei hurried to explain, "No, it's just... it's really cute."

"Cute?" Mo Huai's mouth twitched slightly. In 28 years, no one had ever called him cute. He was used to hearing descriptions like cold, aloof, intimidating, and strong.

"Yes," Luo Wei nodded enthusiastically.

Hearing this, a genuine smile spread across Mo Huai's face. "Go wash your hands and eat."

Luo Wei walked over to the dining table and saw three dishes and a soup, all beautifully prepared. She unconsciously licked her lips. "Wow," she exclaimed. "Your breakfasts are amazing, but I didn't expect you to be so good at cooking too." She gave him a thumbs-up, her smile radiant.

"Did you practice a lot?" she asked curiously. After all, it's rare for men, especially those from wealthy families, to cook. Thinking about this, a warm feeling spread through her heart.

"Just learned recently," Mo Huai replied casually as he served her some soup.

Luo Wei was skeptical, eyeing him with confusion. Just learned? But the food looked like it was made by a professional chef. She was about to say something, but Mo Huai cut her off, "Hurry up and wash your hands; the food will get cold."

He didn't want her to eat cold food, knowing it wasn't good for pregnant women.

"Okay," Luo Wei agreed.

After dinner, Mo Huai went to his study to handle some work. Luo Wei relaxed on the sofa, watching the latest variety show. She stayed there until she grew sleepy, but Mo Huai still hadn't come out of the study. Eventually, she decided to go to bed.

Luo Wei lay in bed, playing on her phone until she drifted off to sleep.

In the middle of the night, Luo Wei suddenly felt her skin itching, her face burning, and her complexion turning pale. She curled up, her body trembling slightly. Just then, Mo Huai returned from the study and saw her lying there, shivering. He quickly rushed to her side, gently patting her arm. "Weiwei, are you okay? Where does it hurt?"

Mo Huai's anxious expression betrayed his deep concern for her discomfort. He steadied his emotions, carefully turning her over. Her lips were pale, and a flush had spread across her cheeks.

"It hurts," Luo Wei whispered weakly, her brows furrowing in pain.

"Where does it hurt?" Mo Huai's voice trembled as he gently cradled her in his arms, his eyes deep and filled with worry. He laid her down gently on the bed and picked up his phone to call Gu Xiu.

At that moment, Gu Xiu was already deep in sleep. The loud ringing of his phone jolted him awake. He frowned, cursing under his breath as he grabbed the phone and ended the call. Relieved by the sudden silence, he relaxed.

But three seconds later, the phone rang again. Annoyed, Gu Xiu picked it up, noticing it was Mo Huai calling. His eyes flashed with suspicion.

"Hello... What's going on?" Gu Xiu's groggy voice came through the line.

Mo Huai gripped the phone tightly, his voice trembling as he spoke each word carefully, "Come quickly, Weiwei is not feeling well."

After saying that, Mo Huai hung up and returned to Luo Wei's bedside, comforting her with gentle eyes full of love.

On the other end, Gu Xiu hadn't fully processed what had just happened before Mo Huai abruptly ended the call. Two minutes later, Gu Xiu cursed, "Damn Mo!" and quickly got dressed.

Before long, Gu Xiu drove to the luxurious estate.

"How is she?" Mo Huai asked nervously, his body tense.

This was the first time Gu Xiu had seen Mo Huai so anxious about someone. As a general practitioner, Gu Xiu quickly diagnosed that Luo Wei had contracted toxoplasmosis. Pregnant women often have weakened immune systems, making them more susceptible to infections.

Gu Xiu smiled reassuringly, "It's just toxoplasmosis. A little medication will fix it—nothing serious."

Mo Huai finally began to relax.

"Let her sleep, and she'll be fine tomorrow," Gu Xiu added confidently.

Then, with a probing glance at Mo Huai, Gu Xiu asked, "Are you really in love with her?"

"She's pregnant. I have a responsibility to take care of her," Mo Huai replied curtly, unwilling to say more.

"Alright then, I'm heading back. Goodnight."

After seeing Gu Xiu out, Mo Huai returned to the room. He stood by the bed, gazing at Luo Wei's peaceful sleeping face, his eyes reflecting emotions that were difficult to decipher.
