Seeing that Luo Wei was bored staying at home all day, Mo Huai decided to take her shopping. The weather was sunny, and Luo Wei was in a very happy mood.
In the luxurious Maybach, Mo Huai drove with one hand on the steering wheel, his fingers turning lazily. The atmosphere in the car was warm and relaxed.
"Where would you like to go?" Mo Huai asked with a gentle smile.
"Hmm... the XX Department Store?" Luo Wei thought for a moment before offering her suggestion.
"Okay," Mo Huai agreed, turning the steering wheel toward the department store.
After parking in the garage, Mo Huai naturally took Luo Wei's hand, and they walked into the department store together. Luo Wei's mood was evident from the faint smile on her face as they entered the bustling store.
Seeing that Luo Wei was in a good mood, Mo Huai's lips curled slightly, a hint of romance warming his heart.
As they entered the boutique, Luo Wei’s eyes were drawn to a uniquely designed, luxurious brooch. She picked it up carefully, turned around, and excitedly handed it to Mo Huai. "Does it look good?"
Mo Huai examined the brooch for a few seconds before responding, "It looks good."
Content with his approval, Luo Wei smiled and then glanced at the price tag. She was taken aback to see that the small brooch cost ten thousand yuan. Despite her current wealth, she was not accustomed to spending money lavishly, and the amount seemed extravagant compared to what she could earn in a month.
Luo Wei carefully placed the brooch back and prepared to leave.
Mo Huai gently pulled her aside and asked curiously, "Don’t you like it?"
He reached out to take the brooch so he could pay for it, but Luo Wei stopped him.
"I do like it," she explained with a smile, "but whether to buy it or not is another matter. It’s enough to have seen it and touched it, haha."
Luo Wei wondered if someone who grew up in wealth like Mo Huai could understand her perspective. While he didn’t fully grasp it, he respected her opinion. For him, acquiring the things he desired since childhood was a matter of principle, as long as it was done legally.
Luo Wei and Mo Huai walked out of the boutique hand in hand.
Luo Wei's eyes lit up when she spotted a teppanyaki tofu food stall downstairs. "Eh~" she said, her gluttony awakened, "I want to eat teppanyaki tofu. Is that okay?"
She looked up at Mo Huai with a playful and somewhat pleading expression.
Mo Huai's lips curled into a smile as he observed her cute, pitiful look. He couldn't resist lowering his head, bending over, and gently caressing the top of her head. "Of course you can, but just don’t eat too much."
"Okay, thank you, Brother Huai," Luo Wei said with a bright smile.
Mo Huai was momentarily taken aback. Brother Huai? he thought. When she enjoys something delicious, she calls him Brother Huai, while normally it’s just Mo Huai.
He felt a pang of bitterness but smiled helplessly. How could he get her to call him anything other than Brother Huai, or even husband?
"Then just sit here and wait for me," Mo Huai said, trying to mask his disappointment.
Luo Wei responded with a sweet, warm smile. "Yes, Brother Huai."
Mo Huai was charmed by her response. He then took the elevator downstairs and queued up to buy the teppanyaki tofu.
Meanwhile, Luo Wei boredly played with her fingers, waiting for the delicious treat he would bring back.
Suddenly, a sharp and mocking female voice pierced through the air.
"Oh, what a coincidence. To run into her again. How unlucky," Luo Weiwei said loudly to her friend, her tone dripping with sarcasm.
Luo Wei froze. She had already encountered them at Chanel and now, as if her luck had taken a turn for the worse, she met them again while shopping.
Trying to avoid further confrontation, Luo Wei hoped they would simply leave her alone and not provoke her.
However, Luo Qianqian seemed determined to cause trouble. She deliberately walked in front of Luo Wei and blocked her path. “Where’s your rich uncle now? Or your fat-headed boyfriend?” she taunted.
Luo Qianqian pretended to look around with feigned surprise. Her voice was laced with sarcasm. "No way, you're alone? Your husband must be with his wife," she said, laughing with her friends.
Luo Wei was intent on avoiding trouble. She didn't want the Luo family to discover her relationship with Mo Huai. Her fear was that they might exploit the situation, using the child as leverage to blackmail him.
She felt a surge of panic and turned to see Mo Huai’s tall, striking figure standing out in the crowded store. Despite the throng of people, he remained in line, waiting.
Luo Qianqian, seemingly aware of Luo Wei’s discomfort, eyed her with a hint of malice. "Are you afraid I’ll see him?" she sneered. "Don’t be scared to admit it."
Her friend chimed in with a tone of disdain, "It’s really shameful that Qianqian has a sister like you." Disgust was evident on her face.
The friend, having heard many negative things about Luo Wei from Luo Qianqian, felt a surge of animosity toward her, thinking that such a scheming woman deserved severe reprimand.
“Don’t mess with me,” Luo Wei said sharply, trying to leave. Although she couldn't afford to provoke them, she intended to escape the confrontation.
Luo Qianqian, however, deliberately stretched out her hand to block her path. “You disgusting woman,” she spat, “our Luo family really raised an ungrateful wolf who ruined the family tradition.”
As Luo Qianqian shoved her, Luo Wei’s balance faltered, and her face grew increasingly distressed. “Let me go,” she demanded, her voice edged with frustration.
Luo Qianqian pretended not to hear and continued to hold her back. Luo Wei’s face turned pale as she instinctively cradled her belly, her hands protectively covering the baby inside.
As Luo Wei and Luo Qianqian continued their struggle, a clear voice rang out from a distance.
Luo Qianqian paused, her gaze shifting towards the source of the voice, her curiosity piqued. Her mind raced as she recognized the man approaching—Mo Huai, the powerful and wealthy head of the Mo Group in Yanjing City.
Surprised to see him here, Luo Qianqian’s eyes widened as she observed his sharp, intense gaze. Reluctantly, she released Luo Wei.
Freed from the confrontation, Luo Wei sighed in relief and turned to face Mo Huai, her expression one of distress.
Mo Huai hurried to her side, gripping her shoulders with a look of deep concern. “Are you okay?” he asked, his eyes filled with worry.
"I'm fine," Luo Wei said, gathering her composure and forcing a smile.
A dangerous gleam flashed in Mo Huai's eyes as he turned his fierce gaze towards Luo Qianqian. She flinched under his stare, unable to comprehend how Luo Wei knew such a powerful figure.
While Luo Qianqian was momentarily distracted, Mo Huai closed the distance between them, annoyance evident in his narrowed eyes.
Luo Qianqian trembled, her voice quivering as she stammered, "Hello, Mr. Mo."
Mo Huai's expression remained icy.
"Ah?" Luo Qianqian's eyes fell to the floor, unable to meet his gaze. "Did I do something wrong?" she asked, her voice filled with trepidation.
"Apologize to my woman!" Mo Huai commanded, his voice carrying an unmistakable edge of authority.
"Your woman?" Luo Qianqian asked, her surprise evident as she glanced at Luo Wei standing behind Mo Huai. Could it be that Luo Wei was the one involved with President Mo?
Before she could fully process this revelation, Mo Huai's sharp voice cut through the confusion: "Apologize to my woman."
Luo Qianqian took a deep breath, composed herself, and stepped closer to Luo Wei, her teeth clenched. "I'm sorry," she said, her voice barely audible as she lowered her head.
Luo Qianqian struggled to understand why someone as influential as President Mo would be involved with an ordinary woman like Luo Wei. Her heart boiled with resentment.
Luo Wei saw Luo Qianqian admit her mistake and decided not to escalate the situation further. "Let's go," she said, walking up to Mo Huai with a smile.
Mo Huai turned to Luo Qianqian, his expression cold and unyielding. "Miss Luo, if you ever bully Weiwei again, I will not let you get away with it. You'd better control yourself."
With that, Mo Huai took Luo Wei's hand and led her away.
