Chi Yu and Chi Ye drove back to the Chi family home in silence, the atmosphere heavy with tension. Chi Yu’s face remained gloomy, and he said nothing.

Chi Ye, however, broke the silence with a cold, mocking tone. "Oh, I didn’t expect Sister Weiwei to be so capable. My brother-in-law seems quite accomplished, much better than some people we know."

As he spoke, Chi Ye shook his head, clicked his tongue, and wore a smug smile.

Chi Yu’s lips pressed into a thin line, his heart aching with pain. He opened the car door and ignored Chi Ye’s jabs.

Chi Ye followed him into the living room, humming a cheerful tune that sharply contrasted with Chi Yu’s mood.

In the living room, Chi’s mother was on the phone with a friend. Upon seeing Chi Yu enter, she quickly ended the call, approached him with concern, and asked, "What did the doctor say? Is the injury serious?"

Chi Yu’s response was a blank stare. His entire demeanor was lifeless, as if he had lost all will, moving like a marionette.

Chi's mother looked at her silent son and frowned. Why did he look so shocked after just being out for a while? Her worry deepened.

Just then, Chi Ye came in humming a tune and skipping. Seeing her second son in such high spirits, Chi's mother narrowed her eyes.

"What did the doctor say?" she asked Chi Ye with concern.

"It's okay, just need to rest for a few days," Chi Ye replied, shaking his body and laughing secretly from time to time.

Chi's mother, surprised, asked, "You two were only out for a while, but one of you looks dejected while the other looks like he won the lottery. What happened?"

Chi Ye smiled playfully and said, "Mom, guess who I met at the hospital?"

"Who?" she asked, intrigued.

Chi Yu, who had been standing to the side, did not want to continue the conversation. "Mom, I'm going back to my room," he said listlessly.

He turned and walked towards his room on the second floor. Chi Ye watched his sad-looking brother, feeling even happier. He deserved it. He hadn't cherished his wife when he had her, and now that she was gone, he was sad and miserable alone.

Chi's mother stepped forward and asked, "What's wrong with Chi Yu? He's distracted. What happened at the hospital?"

Chi Ye watched Chi Yu disappear around the corner on the second floor and cleared his throat, "We met an old classmate at the hospital."

Chi Ye smiled with his lips pursed. He didn't plan to tell his mother everything. Since Chi Yu didn't take the initiative to say it, he was too lazy to get involved in his affairs. As long as Sister Weiwei was happy now, it was enough.

"Old classmates?" Chi's mother was puzzled and glanced at Chi Ye meaningfully. After a moment, she realized that there were no classmates at all. The only person who could influence Chi Yu's mood like this was Luo Wei.

Mother Chi didn't intend to ask any further questions. She gave a few instructions and went back to her room.

Chi Ye continued humming as he skipped back to his room. He took out his cell phone from his pocket and typed some words with his bony fingers.

[Sister Weiwei, congratulations on escaping from the Luo family. Is your brother-in-law good to you?]

On the other side, Luo Wei and Su Yuxin were having afternoon tea in a cafe outside.

Su Yuxin picked up her iced caramel macchiato, sipped it elegantly, and set it down. "Sister Xinxin, how is business at the store?" Luo Wei asked as she took a sip of her cappuccino, its rich aroma still steaming.

"It's great. Thanks to Mr. Mo for sending Xiaoqiu and Xiaoli to help. The business has increased several times," Su Yuxin replied happily.

"I haven't seen you for a long time. I missed you so much..." Su Yuxin said coquettishly, pretending to look pitiful.

Luo Wei smiled lightly, a twinkle in her eyes. "Hehe, when I have the baby, I'll come back in a grand manner. How can the dogs and cats ignore me without me?"

Su Yuxin curled her lips, snorted, and jokingly said, "Is your husband willing to let you go out to work?" She winked at her ambiguously.

Luo Wei raised her cappuccino and took a sip, saying firmly, "He won't interfere with my career. He respects me."

"Wow," Su Yuxin joked, "how happy you are. Look at your face full of love. Really..."

Su Yuxin deliberately trailed off and showed a meaningful smile.

Luo Wei raised an eyebrow and asked, playing along, "Really what?"

"That's obscene," Su Yuxin finished, bursting into laughter and slapping her thighs uncontrollably.

Luo Wei sighed, recognizing her friend's antics. "You’ve gone crazy again," she muttered.

"Haha, that's really funny."

After their afternoon tea, Su Yuxin handed the medicine prescribed by Dr. Shu to Luo Wei. "I got the medicine back for you. Now that you're pregnant, Dr. Shu only prescribed one medicine. Remember to take it on time. I know there isn’t much."

Luo Wei nodded and responded, "I know."

She didn't dare tell Su Yuxin that she hadn't taken any medicine since becoming pregnant, for fear of bringing adverse effects to the fetus.

Luo Wei tightened her grip on the medicine bottle before stuffing it into her bag. Su Yuxin drove her to the Supreme Mansion, where Luo Wei got out of the car and waved goodbye. "Bye."

She watched Su Yuxin's car disappear into the distance, then began walking back to the house. Her phone chimed with a WeChat message. Luo Wei opened the app, seeing a red dot on Chi Ye's profile picture. She clicked on the chat box and typed a reply with her slender fingers, "Very good. I'll introduce you to each other some other day."

Chi Ye replied immediately, [Okay, my brother-in-law looks very talented and handsome, much better than someone else. Congratulations again to Sister Weiwei for finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.]

Luo Wei smiled and replied, [You are just naughty.] followed by a cute emoticon of a person hitting something.

Putting away her cell phone, Luo Wei walked into the house. The living room was empty, so she glanced around. A tall and straight figure appeared, descending the stairs from the second floor slowly. His eyes were gentle as he greeted her, "I'm back."

"I'm back," Luo Wei grinned, tossing her bag aside before lazily lying on the sofa.

Mo Huai went to the kitchen and returned with a glass of mint lemonade, placing it in front of her. Luo Wei picked up the glass and took a few sips, savoring the refreshing taste.

"I'll go change my clothes," she said happily, putting down the cup and standing up to head to the second floor.

Mo Huai watched her ascend the stairs, a faint smile playing on his lips. As she disappeared from view, his gaze shifted to the bag she had left behind. He walked over and prepared to put it away when her phone suddenly rang from inside the bag.

Frowning, Mo Huai hesitated for a moment before retrieving the phone. Seeing that it was just an advertisement call, he smiled and hung up. As he returned the phone to the bag, his eyes caught sight of the medicine bottle. His expression grew serious, and his body tensed.

He carefully picked up the bottle, examining it closely, concern etching deeper lines into his face. Mo Huai's expression grew grim, his brows furrowing. Without an instruction manual, he couldn't determine what the medicine was for. Doubts began to surface—what secret was Luo Wei hiding from him?

"What are you doing?" Luo Wei asked as she walked over, now dressed in comfortable home clothes.

Mo Huai quickly slipped the bottle into his pocket, trying to maintain his composure. "Are you hungry?" he asked, his voice steady.

"I'm not hungry. I ate outside with Sister Xinxin," Luo Wei replied, sticking out her tongue playfully.

Noticing her bag in disarray, she took it from him, organizing its contents. Mo Huai watched her with growing anxiety, though he kept his face emotionless. His heart, however, was gripped with unease, uncertain of what the medicine could mean.
