Mo Huai parked the car in the hospital's underground garage, and the two of them walked into the hospital together.

Thoughtfully, Mo Huai helped with the registration while she sat on a chair waiting. As Luo Wei watched Mo Huai's busy figure, a warm feeling welled up in her heart, causing ripples of emotion.

After a while, Mo Huai finished the registration and stood by her side.

"Thank you," Luo Wei said with a smile, her lips slightly parted.

"You're welcome," Mo Huai replied politely, without saying much more.

Soon, a nurse instructed them to go for a blood test. Following the nurse's lead, Luo Wei obediently walked into the examination room.

Mo Huai watched Luo Wei enter the examination room, and his thoughts drifted back to that night. The girl's delicate body and slender waist lingered in his mind.

That night, after having some drinks at a social gathering, his head was a bit dizzy, and his heart rate increased, but he was far from being unclear-headed. He remembered everything that happened very well.

When the girl suddenly barged in, his usually calm and composed nature took a strange turn. A bold thought suddenly arose—he didn't want to let her go.

Seeing her brought a faint sense of excitement, but Mo Huai didn't believe in the saying that love at first sight is just attraction.

It seemed she hadn’t recognized him, but Mo Huai didn’t mind. There would be plenty of time to get to know each other better. He was careful not to rush things, afraid he might scare her.

After drawing blood, Luo Wei followed the nurse out, pressing a cotton swab against her pale arm to stop the bleeding.

"Please wait in the consultation room for your number to be called," the nurse instructed.

"Alright, thank you," Luo Wei replied.

The two of them then went to the consultation room next door.

"1003," the nurse called out. Hearing her number, Luo Wei stood up and walked into the consultation room.

"Are you Luo Wei?" the doctor asked, glancing at the girl in front of him.

"Yes," she replied.

"Hand me the examination form," the doctor instructed. Luo Wei quickly handed over the form.

The chief physician, an elderly man, put on his reading glasses, glanced at the form, and then looked at the two young people before him. He shook his head slightly, lips pressed tightly together, seeming hesitant to speak.

Luo Wei’s heart started racing, her thoughts running wild. Could it be that she really had a terminal illness?

The doctor’s deeply furrowed brow and distressed expression only made her more uneasy. Anxiously, Luo Wei glanced at Mo Huai, who was standing behind her.

"Doctor, is there anything wrong with the report?" Mo Huai asked calmly, noticing the girl's unease.

The doctor frowned deeply, setting the report down before speaking earnestly, "You young people need to take better care of yourselves—don't overexert yourselves."

Luo Wei was confused and furrowed her brows. "Doctor, what do you mean?"

The doctor sighed. Today's young people were too reckless, not even taking proper precautions. "You don’t know you’re pregnant? Take care of yourself and go to the obstetrics department."

When the doctor mentioned "don't overexert yourselves," he glanced at Mo Huai, subtly hinting that he should be more considerate of his wife in the future.

The moment the doctor finished speaking, Luo Wei was stunned, the words echoing in her mind.

Pregnant?

Was she really pregnant? She had taken contraceptive pills, so how could this happen?

Unwilling to believe it, Luo Wei questioned the doctor further. "Doctor, how is that possible? I took contraceptive pills!"

"I'm not mistaken. You should go to the obstetrics department," the doctor replied coldly, handing Luo Wei the referral slip.

Luo Wei was shocked and took a while to accept the truth. She took the slip and walked out of the consultation room. The man following behind her, however, looked furious. Not only had she sneaked away that night, but she had also secretly taken contraceptive pills?

Attempting to destroy the child they had created? How infuriating!

But fortunately, the child was resilient and hadn't been harmed. Mo Huai was quite pleased with that.

Luo Wei felt like a walking corpse, her eyes vacant. She couldn't explain to Su Yuxin and Gu Chuyi how she had ended up pregnant with a stranger's child, nor could she even identify the father or provide a complete family for the child.

Afterward, Luo Wei and Mo Huai went to the obstetrics department, where they underwent the necessary tests under the doctor’s guidance.

The obstetrician’s words hit Luo Wei like a hammer. "Miss Luo, you are indeed pregnant. You’re experiencing early pregnancy symptoms, but there’s nothing to worry about. Just remember to rest and attend regular check-ups."

Luo Wei left the obstetrics department, her legs feeling as heavy as lead as she trudged forward.

"Mr. Mo, I’m really pregnant," Luo Wei said, her head hanging low, her voice choking.

"Yes, congratulations," Mo Huai replied with a focused expression, a slight smile on his lips.

Luo Wei, disheartened, glanced at the man and let out a cold laugh. "I don’t even know who the father is, and I can’t provide this child with a complete family. I don’t want the child to grow up without a father."

"Actually, the father is—" Mo Huai began to explain, but Luo Wei cut him off.

"I don’t have any money right now. Mr. Mo, could you lend me some? I’ll pay you back with interest," Luo Wei said softly, her fingers tightening nervously.

"Of course. How much do you need?" Mo Huai agreed readily, pulling out a black wallet from the pocket of his tailored suit.

Luo Wei’s throat tightened at his response, inwardly praising him for being such a kind person. "I’m not sure how much an abortion costs, so just lend me what you think is enough."

The man's hand froze as he opened his wallet, staring at the girl in disbelief. She was still thinking about an abortion?

His aura turned cold and his gaze darkened, making Luo Wei feel increasingly uneasy under his scrutiny.

Luo Wei, lacking confidence, stammered, "I can't afford to raise a child. I..."

She lowered her head, words trailing off.

Mo Huai gazed at the girl before him, his emotions surging. The pitiful look on her face made him realize that if he kept hiding the truth, he wouldn’t be a man.

If he hadn't followed her to the hospital today, would she have really gone through with the abortion? Would she have killed their child? He couldn’t allow that to happen!

"Sorry for the trouble. I’ll handle this on my own," Luo Wei said awkwardly, a fleeting hint of sadness in her eyes as she spoke to him.

Mo Huai calmly put his wallet back in his pocket, taking a deep breath as a faint smile appeared in his eyes.

Suddenly, his fingers gently grasped her chin, turning her face toward him. His intense gaze met hers, taking in his thick brows, high nose, and perfectly shaped lips, all exuding an air of nobility and elegance.

His overwhelming presence made Luo Wei's breath catch, forcing her to suppress her panic.

The fresh sandalwood scent of the man filled her senses, their breaths so close they mingled.

"The child is mine," Mo Huai said seriously.
