Zhu Family Old Mansion.

Zhu Shulan was having breakfast. It had been a week since she moved back, but she had only seen Zhu Leiting a few times. Zhu Shulan absently chewed on a piece of bread while looking up at Zhu Shuli, "Brother, can you do me a favor?"

Zhu Shuli paused, setting down his chopsticks, and replied indifferently, "What is it?"

"Oh, sister, just tell us what you need," He Wanling said with a cheerful smile, biting into a bun.

He Wanling was Zhu Shuli's wife. On the day she married into the Zhu family, she had only met Zhu Shulan once. Since Zhu Shulan left home, they hadn't seen each other for over twenty years.

He Wanling was particularly excited about Zhu Shulan's return to the Zhu family. She was often lonely, with Zhu Shuli busy with work and their child studying in another city. Now, with someone to keep her company, she couldn't stop smiling.

Zhu Shulan was silent for a few seconds before speaking, "Brother, can you help me talk to Weiwei? She... Weiwei has blocked all my contact information, and I can't find her. She won't see me. Brother, will you help me?"

Zhu Shuli glanced at her thoughtfully. He had heard about what happened between her and Luo Wei. To have mistreated her biological daughter as if she were adopted, only to regret it now—wasn't it too late?

He sighed and then spoke, "You should give up. If she wants to see you, she'll come to you. If she doesn't, no matter what you do, it will be in vain. Don't you understand that?"

Zhu Shulan's eyes reddened, and her voice choked, "I know, but I can't help it. I feel so guilty. I want to make up for my mistakes. Weiwei has such a kind heart. If I explain everything and show that I've changed, she will forgive me."

Zhu Shuli's expression remained somber as he shook his head, "Sister, trust me on this. Weiwei is happily married to Mo Huai now. The best thing you can do for her is to stay out of her life."

"No, I have to explain myself," Zhu Shulan said, tears wetting her eyelashes as she struggled to hold back her sobs.

He Wanling moved to Zhu Shulan's side, handing her a tissue. She looked at Zhu Shuli and pleaded, "Husband, for my sake, please help my sister this one time. She truly knows she was wrong. As a mother myself, I understand how she feels. Please, can you help her?"

Zhu Shuli sighed, leaving them with a final statement before walking away.

"You should both give up."

He Wanling glared at his retreating back and then turned to Zhu Shulan, "Sister, don't be sad. I'll always support you."

Zhu Shulan stifled her tears and grasped He Wanling's hand, saying emotionally, "Wanling, thank you, really, thank you."

He Wanling waved her hand dismissively, "Sister, no need to thank me. I remember how lonely and scared I was when I first married into the Zhu family. You helped me adjust back then."

Zhu Shulan nodded, a faint smile tugging at her lips.

He Wanling gently patted her back, comforting her, "I know my husband's temperament. He just cares about saving face. I'll talk to him again tonight before bed. Don't worry, leave this to me."

Zhu Shulan smiled and nodded, her thoughts swirling. She wasn't a qualified mother, and perhaps this was her karma.

Supreme Mansion, Second-Floor Study.

"Mr. Mo, you must handle this matter in person, or Mo Corporation's profits will decrease by 30%," Xu Kaifeng said, his head lowered. The atmosphere in the room was oppressively cold.

Mo Huai flipped through the documents in his hand and rubbed his temples, "Weiwei is seven months pregnant. I can't go."

Xu Kaifeng felt like an ant on a hot pan. He thought bitterly, Young Master Mo, even with all your wealth, you can't do this. If you go to Europe, the matter will be resolved immediately. If you don't, Mo Corporation will lose billions in annual profits.

His heart was full of bitterness. While a wife was important, wasn't it necessary to prioritize business?

As Xu Kaifeng's thoughts wandered, he failed to respond to Mo Huai calling him several times. Mo Huai had to raise his voice.

"Are you listening to me?" Mo Huai's voice was cold, and he narrowed his eyes at him.

"Yes, yes..." Xu Kaifeng snapped back to reality, hurriedly responding.

"We'll leave it at that for now. We'll put Europe on hold until after Weiwei gives birth. I'll handle it then," Mo Huai said, his eyes darkening slightly.

"Mr. Mo, this situation is extremely urgent. You know this will lead to Mo Corporation's economic decline, the stock price will drop, and the consequences will be unimaginable. Mr. Mo..." Xu Kaifeng's words were cut off as Mo Huai waved his hand to stop him.

Mo Huai lowered his gaze, his voice icy, "No need to explain. I know what I'm doing. You can leave now."

Xu Kaifeng hesitated, wanting to say more, but ultimately didn't. He glanced at Mo Huai, "I'll take my leave then."

He turned and quietly left the room, closing the door behind him.

His expression darkened as he descended the stairs, one hand in his pocket.

Luo Wei looked up when she heard footsteps and smiled softly, "Assistant Xu, you're done already?"

Xu Kaifeng stopped beside her, noting that her belly had grown even more prominent, giving her a strong maternal glow. He shook his head, thinking that no wonder Mr. Mo was unwilling to go abroad. Though it was only a week-long trip, Mr. Mo was still worried and uneasy.

Luo Wei noticed his distracted expression and frowned slightly, curious, "Assistant Xu, is something wrong?"

Xu Kaifeng hesitated, but after a moment of consideration, he decided to tell her everything.

Luo Wei's expression became complicated. After a while, she finally spoke, "I... I'm sorry, Assistant Xu."

"Don't say that, Miss Luo. Mr. Mo is only worried about you, so..." Xu Kaifeng started to explain.

"Yes," Luo Wei interrupted, then said, "I know what to do."

Xu Kaifeng was puzzled but maintained a calm demeanor, "Miss Luo, what do you plan to do?"

"Let him handle his business," Luo Wei replied with a gentle smile.

Xu Kaifeng nodded, wondering if his boss would punish him for reporting this to her.

The rumors about Mr. Mo were true. He was usually ruthless, decisive, and never let a slight go unpunished. Would he let this slide?

Seeing the question in his eyes, Luo Wei smiled, "Assistant Xu, don't worry. I won't tell him you informed me. You can rest easy."

"Thank you, Miss Luo," Xu Kaifeng said, his tension finally easing, and a smile slowly appeared on his face.

Luo Wei thought for a moment and then asked, "How long will he need to go?"

"About a week."

Luo Wei nodded. A week wasn't too long or too short. She could manage a week without him.

She mentally encouraged herself. A week would pass quickly.
