Luo Wei remained silent for a few seconds before speaking, "When it comes to feelings, no one can be sure. Maybe the two of you will develop feelings over time?"

"Develop feelings over time?" Gu Chuyi frowned slightly. Why did that phrase sound so awkward?

"Stop overthinking it. Matters of the heart happen naturally. If you're feeling troubled, why not just ask Fu Chen directly? Uncertainty is the worst thing for love," Luo Wei suggested.

"And what about you? Do you love Fu Chen?" Luo Wei's question left her stunned. She had been worrying about whether Fu Chen loved her, but what about her own feelings?

"I..." Gu Chuyi hesitated. "It's alright, I guess." The events of the previous night were still fresh in her mind. She had responded willingly to Fu Chen, and they had even been intimate several times.

Thinking about it made her cheeks flush and her ears warm up.

"Alright then, a customer just came into the shop. Think it over, and if you need anything, call me."

"Okay, bye."

After hanging up, Gu Chuyi rolled around on the bed twice before getting up to brush her teeth and freshen up.

Once she was done, she changed into her professional attire and went downstairs to the dining table. As she lifted her gaze, she saw Gu Xiu, dressed sharply in a suit, casually eating breakfast.

"I had Aunt Wang make some pan-fried dumplings for you," Gu Xiu said without even glancing at her, holding a magazine in his hand.

Her eyes drifted toward the table, and sure enough, there was a plate of golden pan-fried dumplings. "Thanks," she replied softly.

She picked up a pair of chopsticks and placed a dumpling in her mouth, chewing. The rich flavor of meat filled her mouth without being too greasy. The filling was made of chive and pork.

Gu Chuyi nodded in satisfaction and popped another dumpling into her mouth, her cheeks bulging with food.

"Why do you eat like a child? Wipe your mouth." Gu Xiu looked at her with a helpless expression, handing her a napkin.

Gu Chuyi took the napkin and wiped the corner of her mouth, giving him a sideways glance, then picked up her soy milk and took a sip.

Suddenly, Yuanbao, the large, fluffy dog, came bounding out of the pet room and jumped into her arms.

"Yuanbao, good boy," Gu Chuyi said, kissing the dog and stroking its soft, snowy fur.

Yuanbao bared his teeth, excited to see his owner, as if saying, "Master, I love you, I love you!"

Her mood, which had been gloomy earlier, brightened considerably. She peeled a boiled egg and fed it to Yuanbao, who gobbled it up in one bite, wagging his tail joyfully.

After finishing breakfast, Gu Chuyi drove to the company.

As soon as she sat down at her desk and turned on her computer, her phone rang. She picked it up, hesitated for a moment, and then answered.

"Hello?" Her voice held a trace of nervousness and uncertainty.

Fu Chen's deep, magnetic voice came through, "Why did you leave me alone again?"

She held her breath, her eyes shifting as she replied softly, "I... had an important meeting this morning, so I came to the office early. You were sleeping so soundly, I didn’t want to wake you, so I left quietly."

Gu Chuyi's excuse was flimsy, and a thin sheen of sweat appeared on her forehead.

"Is that so? You always use the same excuse. I could easily support you without this company," Fu Chen said.

"..."

"Let’s have dinner together after work."

Gu Chuyi pressed her temples, feeling exhausted. After staying up late last night, going to work today was already tough. Seeing him again after work? She could barely handle it. What if he wanted a repeat of last night?

"Let me think about it," Gu Chuyi politely declined.

"There's no need to think. Six o'clock, Leisure Time Café."

Beep—

She was about to refuse, but Fu Chen had already hung up. She stared at the phone in exasperation.

Frustrated, she slumped over her desk, beating her chest in helplessness. After a long while, she picked up the office phone and called her assistant.

"Xiao Chen, make me a cup of coffee. No sugar."

"Wait, make two cups."

Meanwhile, in the luxurious presidential suite where the sun had already risen high in the sky, Fu Chen stirred groggily. He reached out, expecting to pull the woman beside him into his arms, but his hand found only empty sheets.

He immediately opened his eyes. "Damn."

Fu Chen cursed under his breath. She’d escaped again!

A dark, mischievous glint flashed in his eyes. It seemed like he needed to deal with her more thoroughly next time. Last night, he’d been too gentle, which allowed her to wake up early and slip away unnoticed.

His plan for a leisurely morning cuddle was thwarted, but Fu Chen smirked as he plotted. If she kept running, she would have to keep enduring his "punishments" of love.

Rubbing his eyes, he leisurely picked up his phone and dialed her number.

He wasn’t satisfied with her excuse, which was why he suggested dinner after work. He wanted to confront her face-to-face and lay down the rules—she was no longer allowed to sneak away while he slept.

With that, Fu Chen pulled off the covers, got out of bed, and headed to the bathroom.

A while later, back at the office, his manager stormed in, fuming.

"Fu Chen, what the hell happened? Last night, the crew was supposed to shoot the night scenes. Where did you disappear to? You pissed off the director so much that he wants to kill you. You’d better apologize to him right away!"

Fu Chen lazily leaned back in his chair, spinning it with ease. "I had something to take care of."

"Something to take care of? You say that like it's no big deal. Director Zhang, the most famous director in the country—you offended him! Do you even want a career in the entertainment industry?"

The manager's face twisted in frustration, his eyebrows twitching as he rubbed his temples.

"There was an emergency last night, so I forgot. My bad."

The manager, fuming with barely suppressed rage, eventually calmed down.

"Fu Chen, please stop causing trouble, okay? I have a lot on my plate—family, work, and two mortgages. Just go apologize to Director Zhang, alright?"

The manager's tone softened as tears welled up in his eyes, making a pitiful plea.

Fu Chen glanced at her, thinking to himself how much he hated it when women cried.

"Fine, I'll go talk to him," Fu Chen said with a wave of his hand, giving in.

The moment he agreed, the manager's expression changed instantly, as if turning a page in a book. She cheered, "Great! Director Zhang said he’ll let it go if you apologize."

Fu Chen shot her a glare, and the manager quickly scurried out of his office.

Gu Chuyi had just finished her work and stretched her arms, glancing at the clock on the wall. It was five-thirty.

Suddenly, she remembered Fu Chen's invitation from that morning. After the night they had shared, meeting him again would definitely be awkward.

Sighing, she realized she had no valid excuse to refuse, so she grabbed her bag and headed to the Leisure Time Café.

Leisure Time Café was a high-end restaurant that combined Chinese and Western cuisine. It was a members-only establishment, and its patrons were all wealthy and influential.

After parking her car, Gu Chuyi walked into the restaurant. The moment she reached the entrance, a waiter greeted her, "Are you Miss Gu Chuyi?"

She nodded slightly.

With a professional smile, the waiter said, "Mr. Fu is over there. Please follow me."

The waiter led her to a quiet, luxurious booth where Fu Chen, wearing sunglasses, sat like a deity, radiating an aura that made people hesitate to approach.
